Not sure if I am posting this in the correct section, but I had a question about ovulation...
Does anyone know of the possiblity (or has anyone experienced) of a story about ovulating more than once in a cycle? I always heard that >1 ovulation was not possible. But, I was wondering about it and did a GOOGLE search and found that scientist are now saying it is possible. I'm asking b/c I usually know when I am ovulating each month like clockwork - same signs each month (use to use a fertility monitor which confirmed the "signs" where the same each month, but I have not used the monitor in 2 years.) This month the "signs" were a couple days earlier, which has happened before, so I didn't think anything of it. But, this week (when I truly should have been ovulating), I got all the "signs" again. Just wondering.

hi daviso....
i think the issue is highly under studied. i can tell you after years on this bb. we have had many members who swore they had a second O in one cycle. i think there can be other explinations as well. certain things will interupt O as the process begins. so i think a womans body can start gearing up tp O and if interrupted (ie: taking progesterone at the wrong time of the cycle) it can hault. if the woman then abruptly stops the progesterone, the body may start the process all over again. i believe there are other meds/hormones in addition to progesterone that can have this affect. the article makes reference to actual studies and that would including testing. i'd say it's kind of hard to deny the fact that it happens, right? i certainly don't think it's a common occurrence, but i do believe it happens. in your case i would cover your bases with BMS whenever you think O is impending. whether it's once a month or three times a month! better to overdue it than miss your window right? best wishes
