Hi,
Does anyone know if this is possible? We are beginning the fertility testing route (Hubby goes in first this month). I have regular cycles, 28 days on the button most months. However, the only time I tried an OPk it never gave me a positive. Now I'm wondering if I'm not ovulating. It seems like a cruel joke to have regular periods w/o ovulation. ![]() Also, when you guys use the OPKs do you test just like it says on the box? Or do you test most of the month. I tested in the morning. Can anyone shed some light?

Hi Kissiesuz. Welcome to FT
Monitoring your LH surge BBT for 3 cycles will tell you more about your cycles. It is hard to tell your pattern if you only have one cycle to look at. It is possible you ovulated but the OPK didn't detect your LH surge. Sometimes the urine that is used is too diluted (like you drank a lot of water before you tested. They also say that you should not pee3 hours before you test). But also you can have a + OPK test and not ovulate. That is why it is better to do BBT monitoring and OPK test. You have more data with you to tell if you are not ovulating or not. Good luck.

Hi Kissiesuz: Welcome! I agree with what Liz has said: if you are interested in temping, it will really help you figure out what your body is doing. You can match up the temp data with the OPK data and see how everything fits together. I don't think you can draw any conclusions from one month of using OPKs.
What brand of OPK did you use? I was a fan of ClearPlan Easy and found it to be very reliable. I know that people say to test in the p.m. (many women seem to surge in the morning and then the LH makes its way into the urine by the afternoon), but I tested at all different times, with no problem seeing my surge. The most important thing is to always test at the same time each day, though. If you do want to temp and you want help getting started, let us know and we'll be glad to help! Good luck and keep us posted+++++++++ Maura |

I tried a few OPK but really depend & like Clearblue easy digital that shows you a
on the day that LH surge is detected. I have found that using that along with BBT gives me a pretty accurate result of when O happened. Also, I had been testing in the afternoon but my doc suggested first morning urine..I dont ever wake up at night to go so its a good 8hr sample saved up. Some I've heard say not to use that but....I do & get + results on the OPK. Unfortunately I'm still trying and trying and trying.....Best wishes to you!
