Anyone here experienced with Femara . . .

I am on CD8 of my first Femara cycle. This month we are using the CBE Fertility monitor and intercourse. So far, I have experienced some headaches and hot flashes, but no other signifigant side effects. Just wanting to hear of any other experiences and/or successes with this protocol.

Thanks,
Daisy

hi daisy...how's the monitor working out for you? i know it's still early, but wanted you to know that on the first cycle with the monitor it doesn't always pick up your surge. that doesn't mean you're not O'ing, just that it utilizes the first month to interpret and store your hormonal changes.

is your doctor going to give you and u/s so they can verify that the femara is helping you?

Thanks for the reply . . .

Yes, I will call for an u/s when I get a positive on my fertility monitor. I am on CD 12 today, and got my first "high" reading. I am guessing I will get the LH surge tomorrow or the next day as I usually have a day or two of "high" before I get a "peak" reading.

Thanks,

Daisy

Hi Daisy - I'm on my first cycle of Femara. Actually, I am very close to being done with this cycle (I am on 12dpIUI so will know soon one way or the other if this cycle worked). I didn't have any headaches or hot flashes. I have noticed being kind of tired, but I assumed that was because I had a mild cold and had been traveling a bit. If this cycle doesn't work, I am supposed to go in on CD2 or CD3 for a cyst check before continuing with subsequent cycles of Femara.

I also use the CBEFM. And as DKNY said, the first cycle was a little funky in that I got a bunch of high readings starting at CD7, and then a couple of peaks, as it was trying to interpret my cycle. Hope it all goes well!!!

5 dpiui and waiting . . .

I think I am going to test at 10dpiui. Hopefully that will be long enough to get the HCG trigger out. What do you think? I just bought 10 Aim Strip pg tests online, and they detect HCG at 20.

Hi Daisy,

When was your trigger? Depending on how much you got and when, it might or might not be out by the time you test.

Here is some information from the fertilityplus website:

"Q: Can I use an HPT if I had an hCG injection (such as Profasi, Pregnyl or Novarel)?

A: You can, but you should wait 7-14 days after your last injection before the shot is out of your system. If you test too soon, you might get a false positive. Wait 14 days after a 10,000 IU injection, 10 days after a 5,000 IU injection, or 7 days after a 2,500 IU injection."

Good luck with your testing and keep us posted!
