Ovulation?
this is my first time here and unfortunately I didn't have time to read any of the threads already posted. I just wanted to get this out there because I am going crazy! I have PCOS, 2 years ago or so I tried the clomid route with no results. Now we are not "actively" trying to get preg but we aren't preventing it. I am trying to track my cycle days so I can encourage my husband to be ready but UUUUHGGGGGGG!
I've got 2 issues. 1) I honestly think I'm ovulating now and it is CD 33! Is that even possible??????? Hello?!? Trying to track ovulation is getting expensive because kits only have like 10 sticks and if I start peeing on those when I'm "supposed" to I've run out of sticks and no Positive. so then I think i didnt ovulate since I have PCOS. I've quit buy sticks and just winging it because expensive and.......2) husband doesn't like the "pressure" to perform. He doesn't want to give it up when I need it. And that is really frustrating to me. He's a guy he should want sex whenever he can get it but when I really need it uh.....nothing. Booooooo! Help me out ladies. Am I the only one with crazy cycles and how can I create a mood that will take the pressure off "baby making"?

Hi and welcome!
You are not alone! Many women have unpredictable cycles and PCOS can be a factor in that. I think you are right not to spend money on OPKs because with PCOS, cycles can be really long and you will spend a small fortune on the tests and also, PCOS can cause false ++s because some women with PCOS always have high levels of LH circulating (enough to show up on a test, but not necessarily be preceding ovulation right then and there). As for creating a mood, that's a hard one! Many men feel that they don't want it or can't perform when the pressure is on. He's not alone, by any measure. Some women find it easier not to tell their partners where they are in their cycle. That could help take the pressure off. There's no easy answer, though, and this is one of the most stressful things about IF! What makes you think you might be ovulating now? Do you have any cramping or see any good fertile-looking cm? Good luck and keep us posted+++++++ Maura |

My ovaries are killing me and yes on the thickness and increase in cm. Since being off the clomid I was having pretty regular periods then May 18 was my last one until this one which started Aug. 21. Thanks for the speedy reply.

Hi Steph! I am pretty new to the whole infertility stuff, but I also have PCOS and irregular periods. I tried the whole OPK thing too and I found some online that were MUCH cheaper than the store bought. I got like 50 of em for $40 or so. I don't think we are allowed to post specifics on sites like that, you know, advertising and such, but if you google "ovulation predictor kits" you will find some sites.
Unfortunatly, like Maura said, for girls like us the OPK's aren't always accurate, but if your gonna try that way, at least get some cheaper supplies! I must have peed on 100 of those stupid things and never got a +... Good Luck! |

Hi again,
Is your cm thick in terms of being copious? Or is it thick in terms of consistency? Really fertile cm is thin and stretchy and clear, like eggwhite. After O, cm tends to become tackier and thicker -- not stretchy. If you can describe more your cm, I'll try to help you see where you might be in terms of O! Best++++++++++ Maura |

Now what?
Ok....today is CD44. It looks like I may have ovulated around CD32 -33 and yes I did get my husband to put out
. Since monday my breasts have been major sore and growing! Also I've been cramping real bad, like day 1-2 of period after not having one for months. I don't want to get my hopes up because I've been down this road before. But it's never really been like this or at least that's what I'm letting myself believe anyways and I want to give myself happy thoughts to my insides so if I am prego I'll stay this way. Mostly I'm just trying to keep y'all up to date and to ask when do you think I should test? Right now I'm thinking to wait a couple more weeks because if I didn't o until CD32ish then I've got a while to wait. Send me your good Karma and I'll send you mine! Everyone have a good weekend. |

Hi there! So, if you ovulated on cd 33, then 14 dpo would be cd 47. The closer you can get to that day before testing, the better off you are! If you do end up testing before then, just make sure you remember that it's still very early!
Good luck and keep us posted+++++++++ Maura |
