Hi there! I always used ClearPlan Easy and always could detect my surge easily. It's also the brand recommended by both my OB and my RE.

I know some people say to test in the pm, between 12-3 if possible (because many women surge in morning and then LH is detectable in the pm -- otherwise you have to wait until the next morning to pick it up), I never had any trouble regardless of what time of day I tested. The important thing, though, is to stick with whatever time you pick for that month! It's very important to test at the same time each day!

Another thing you'll hear is hold your urine for 4 hours and don't drink too much beforehand (so your urine isn't diluted). But then they tell you to drink a lot of water when ttc ... so, Catch 22!

Anyway, here is a link to a website that has a lot of information (with a link to the OPK part specifically):

Good luck and let us know if you have any other question!

++++++++++++

i also used clear blue and found them very reliable. i tried a few other brands but i felt they always left me with uncertainties. i eventuallly broke down and bought the monitor.

good luck!
