OPK: no second line

Last time I used OPKs, I had two dark lines on the stick for my cycle. It was a long anovulatory cycle and I had elevated FSH and LH. Now (knock on wood), I think things have gone back to normal. However, my OPK sticks only have the control line and the second line is not showing at all. Is this normal pre-O? I thought I should always have two line but my line would get darked. I am on CD16.

Hi there: It's fine not to have two lines on an OPK. Many women see only one until they see their surge. Keep OPKing and let's see what happens.

Good luck and keep us posted++++++++++

Rita - Hey girlie. I had that happen with the sticks. Only I failed to read the instructions that said not to read them until after 10 minutes. Are you letting a full 10 minutes go by? The cheap Target ones I bought said if you do not see some line next to the control line then the test is defective. So I was going to take mine back but when I pulled the test out of the trash the other line had finally developed. I thought you were using the smiley faces?

Nic: That's why there is no second line! No, just toying with you! Actually, I took your advice and am doing digital in the morning (which requires me to hold my pee for 4 hrs.) and the cheap sticks at night. However, I was waiting like 5 minutes. Hmmmm....I will wait 10 tonight and see what happens.
