Maura, Question for you
Hiya Maura, Dina~
I am wondering what is going on with me this cycle. I'm currently 17 dpo, I think (no temps, just fertility signal monitoring). I should have seen AF this past Friday 8/8. My hpts were negative on 8/6 and 8/10.....but they were also done without f.m.u. (We also had b.m.s three days before ovulation, as best I can tell.), but not again until after "o". I have no pg symptoms at all. The only discharge I've seen is slight and brownish (and only when I wiped) and that was only on Sat. 8/9. I don't feel like I'm pg.....and I don't feel as if AF is coming either. I don't know whether to get my hopes up.....and go buy more hpts.....or whether to start suspecting weird cycles because of age and looming menopause, although my cycles have been pretty regular this past year, every month. I did have this weird brown spotting once before and then AF came "full force" the very next day. This time around, though, it has been two days and I don't see any sign of more spotting or AF Ideas???? I guess that it's possible that it was anovulatory.....it's kind of hard to tell with no temps, huh? But, what would be causing the brown spotting? Thanks! LAMom

Hi LAMom! First, what were the fertility signs and when did you observe them? It could be that you are off with your suspected O date. The brown spotting could be from an irritated cervix, a cervical polyp, a cyst or implantation. I think that I would buy one more HPT and see what it says (and I would use FMU). Try ClearBlue Easy or e.p.t. Or if your doctor is willing, you could always get a beta and have a more definitive answer!
Fingers tightly crossed for you! Good luck and OF COURSE let us know what happens! +++++++++++++ Maura |

WARNING: (Maybe some "TMI".....!)
Thanks for the info, Maura. I hadn't even thought of the irritated cervix, or cervical polyp/cyst possibility. The only other things that have happened "symptom wise" is that I did feel some slight dizziness last night and this morning.......but not even a hint of nausea, breast tenderness, etc. As a matter of fact, and the reason that I tend to think that this ISN'T pregnancy related, is because of the lack of bbs symptoms. (I know, that all pgs are different, etc), but for all of my prior pregnancies I had immediate breast fullness and nipple changes, etc), and right now: nothing. I've never seen them looking as "flat". (the nipples, that is, not the bbs) LOL!
I used First Response Early tests and they are supposed to pick up at 25 mlU. My dr. isn't big on the beta tests without first having a positive urine test. I'll probably get a test today and try tomorrow with f.m.u. I did start using my progesterone cream a few days ago, (since the brown spotting), just to help supplement, if I need it. As far as the fertility signs go, I had watery, somewhat stretchy CM on 7/22. I had more abundant, very stretchy EWCM on 7/23 and then back to slightly watery CM on 7/24 and lotiony, almost tacky CM on 7/25. (We bmsd on 7/22.) My CP has remained high but it went from soft to hard on 7/25 also. Whatcha think? Thanks again for the answers. I am wondering if it could very well be a cyst or irritation. I'll let you know, LAMom |
