++FRED, is it too early for digital?

Hello! I am sitting here thrilled and stunned at my nice pink line, and was hoping someone could opinion me on if a digital test would be positive at this point. I am only 5dt5dt (10dpo). We've been at this so long, I've never been able to tell my husband in an exciting, old fashioned way, we've always shared the bad news with disappearing lines and watched positives stop after a few days.
Anyway I am feeling so positive and happy about this one, I've never seen such a nice line on a hpt. Do you think a digital would read 'pregnant' if my FRER was nicely positive this morning? Thanks for any help.

Hi and congratulations! 10 dpo (and it's equivalent in days post transfer) is just about the earliest you can see a ++HPT, whatever the type or brand. I don't think it makes a difference whether it's digital or line. As long as there's some HcG present that is high enough to be detectable by the threshold of that test, you'll see a ++. If the digital you plan to use has the same testing threshold as the FRER you used, then it should show up as a ++ too!

Can you get a beta? A pair of betas, with an appropriate rise in between, is the most reliable test of all!

Good luck and let us know how things are going+++++++++

Thanks, Maura, that makes sense--maybe I will try the digital I have that says it detects 5 days before AF is due, that is the same that FRER says.
It is going to be really hard not to call my doc and ask for an early beta...mine is not scheduled until Saturday 8/9!

Hi again: A word about the tests which say they can detect a pg 5 days before AF is due. While it's true that they technically *can*, it's only true for those pgs that have implanted VERY early. In the majority of cases, those tests cannot show a ++ even when there is a pg! This is because implantation takes place between 6-12 dpo. So if the pg implants at 10 dpo and the HcG takes another 2 days to become detectable, even the most sensitive test wouldn't show a ++ until 12 dpo -- which is less than 5 days before AF is due (where AF is due at 15 dpo).

I think I'm rambling.

Anyway, let us know how the tests come back and GOOD LUCK!

Thanks so much, Maura. I am pretty stunned at the results today, I knew it was waaay too early to test and really expected a BFN.
So I had ants in my pants and took a digital, and sure enough it came up 'pregnant'. I guess it is pretty sensitive, I am only 5dt5dt with DE. I am hoping this means there is a strong pregnancy brewing in there!

Thank you so much ladies. It was a really nice week, from 5dt5dt until my beta yesterday at 10dt5dt, I was so happy and overjoyed, I really thought this was it. Unfortunately my beta yesterday morning was 17, that is just way too low for this stage of the game. I was in denial all day, since I feel pregnant, and my hpts are so dark, so I had another beta drawn last night at work (I am an ER nurse) and it was still 17.
I guess I am still holding onto the sliver of hope that some of the three blasts tried to implant and failed, and then maybe one is hanging on and trying to make that beta go back up, but I think the chances are pretty slim. It's very strange that the beta did not change at all from 7am to 9pm, either up or down. So at this point I am just hoping it's not some blighted ovum or ectopic that keeps me in beta limbo for days/weeks.
I am so sad I just want to stop my meds. That's why I asked for the blood draw, I figuered if the numbers were starting to go down I'd stop, but of course nothing could be clear cut for me. Its very hard to keep shooting progesterone for no good reason.
Anyway, thank you so much for your support. Maybe there will be some miracle and I will be posting doubling numbers.

Oh, no! I'm so very sorry. {{{HUGS}}} I'm hoping this somehow turns around for you. When are you going to repeat the beta?

Thinking of you++++++++++
