So sorry you are dealing with this right now. This did happen to me one cycle. I tested over the weekend and got about 6 +hpt's over 2 days. On Sunday AF showed up and I was bleeding heavily. I had to go in for a beta because the RE insisted that I go. Of course it was negative. No one could really explain it to me at the time but I am assuming maybe it was a chemical pregnancy. It is devestating and so very frustrating to have this happen. Hang in there!

Welcome to FT!

Were the positive and negatives the same brand of tests? They vary widely in their sensitivity.

False positives can happen, but they are rare.

I would buy a First Response Early Detection and test again. These are the ones that ladies here usually get the earliest results with.

I am hoping for a + for you!

Oh I'm so sorry! What a letdown to see that ++ and then get AF.

Two things could have happened yesterday. One is that the ++ was a false positive. The second was that you had a very early m/c (a pg that didn't implant perhaps) and the one HPT that was ++ picked up the HcG in your system. Either way, it's a huge disappointment.

What tests have you and dh had? Do you know potential causes of your not conceiving?

Welcome to the bb and I look forward to getting to know you+++++++++

Thank you all so much for your comments. I bought a early pregnancy test Rite-Aid brand and it was two test in the box and both said positive with a dark and a faint line. But, I went to the clinic and they confirmed it with a negative. I took several more tests and all were negative. I wish I knew why it happened but I guess I should just move on. It's just that I have PCOS and my husband has a very low sperm count so the odds are against us and we can't afford IVF. But again thanks so much for the support!!!!

Oh gosh, I am going through this right now! I got a BFP on 2 tests this morning (different brands), then a BFN on 2 additional tests this afternoon....and I started spotting today. My RE sent me to the lab for a beta and I'm waiting to hear back on the results. Oh, and I have PCOS as well. I don't have any good answers for you ~ just know I'm thinking of you.

Edited to add: Just heard from my RE ~ beta is BFN.
