HPT & Trigger (Ovidrel)

ok, I have to admit, I obsess much... Please don't judge. I'm a poas addict, lol. Anyway, I have a serious question... maybe you more experienced ladies can help answer it. I had an HCG trigger (250ug/Ovidrel) on last wed nite. 10/17. I had poas the past week (the cheapie internet strips with the blue ends) to watch the trigger leave my system. As of yesterday, which was 8days post trigger, the strip came up neg after being VERY light the day before. So I figured it was out of my system. So today I was at Dollar Tree and decided to get a few tests from there for when it was 'real' testing time. So I get home, and just for giggles, I take one of the $$$ Tree ones, just to confirm the trigger is out. So it came up very light ++. So I have a few of the first response tests so I took one of those too. It also came up VERY light. So I'm thinking maybe it hasn't been long enough for the trigger to really leave my system and the cheapie tests I were using were just not sensitive enough to pick up the amount I had in my system yesterday? They "claimed" to have a sensitivity of 20ug, but I'm not so sure I believe that. I'm 7dpiui today so I couldn't have a 'real' ++ by now could I? Implantation would be happening right now if I was pg, so it wouldn't show up so soon, right? I'm being so hopeful about this cycle that I really want a real BFP, but I don't want to obsess now that this weird thing happened. I wasn't planning on doing any real testing until at least 10dpiui, but I wanted to make sure the trigger was gone. I thought it was yesterday, but today I'm not so sure... uggg... should I poas tomorrow and see if its gone or gets darker? Does it for SURE take 10days for the trigger to get out? I don't know about all the "unit" stuff, cause the label says 250ug...
Anyone have any insight? Sorry this is so long...

...ok....i'm trying to find out about your dosage but i'm having trouble finding out exactly how it translates into units.

the general rule of thumb is that the body releases approx 1000 units per day. but we don't know if yours is equivelant to 7000, 10,000 or maybe less.

my initial thought (before you said it ) was the difference in the sensitivitiy of the different tests. it "could" account for the line disappearing on one brand and re-appearing on another.

implantation occurs between 6-12dpo. i would imagine it would still take another day or so to build up enough hcg to trigger a pos test. hcg isn't produced upon conception, but rather upon implantation.

i'm not saying your pos test today isn't accurate, i just want to give you the relative facts so you know that it could possibly be from the trigger.

you're still early in the game, so if you can wait a few more days (which i know is MUCH easier said than done ) you'll have a higher likelihood of an accurate answer.

Thanks Dina, I'm thinking it prob has to be residual trigger, but that "what if" is still hanging around. I'm sure it has to be the difference in sensitivites of the tests. I keep telling myself that cause I don't want to get my hopes up. I couldn't figure out the ug to units really either, so I dunno... I just thought that by 9dp trigger, that it would be gone. Guess there is nothing I can do but wait and test again. I'm sure that curiosity will get the best of me and I'll prob not be able to wait a few days, but test again tomorrow Dang it I hate waiting! lol I guess if there is no line at all tomorrow, then def has to be trigger so at least that will answer that. I've not heard of anyone getting a real bfp only 7dpiui anyways... maybe 8, but that the earliest I've heard of...

One RE I talked to said "usually" it takes about 10 days for the hcg to leave your system so you are still early and very much in the game.

Try again in a few days and let us know.

I did the same test I did yesterday, and this time there was not even a faint line. So at least I got my answer and NOW I know that the trigger is gone, so when I test for real, I will know its real
