Do pgncy sighns start before implantation?

I was wondering if pgncy signs start at fertilization or not until after implantation?? Anybody know?

Well ... I think you are going to hear 2 differing scenarios on this one. I've read posts of some women who swear that they *knew* they conceived within days of O, but I honestly don't know how that's possible. Once the zygote implants, that is the ONLY time hCG is released, and that is the only way symptoms become apparent. That's just my opinion, and it's also true for me (been pg. 13x, so I have some history)!

Good luck to you!

i agree with CG. with my first pg i did have a couple of symptoms at about 12 dpo but i wasn't TTC so i blew them off as a virus.

generally it's the hcg that starts causing symptoms and that comes after implantation.

good luck!

Hi:

I've read that it is after implantation.....that the hcg causes alot of the early symptoms. But, I have also heard that some women just "instinctively know" when it happens. I do put alot of stock in "instinct" too.......esp. when it comes to the maternal kind! LOL! Powerful stuff! LOL!

Good luck to you.....I think we're close to the same place in all this. Yesterday was 10 dpo for me and I really started to feel "strange"! All of the sudden, I felt very hungry, then very "full", then queasy.........and, VERY moody for the past few days. I sure hope that it's ++++++++, because otherwise, I have some definite physical/mental "issues" going on!!! LOL!
I'm thinking +, but still not gonna test until Friday (just a little "deal" that I made with myself! Ha. Ha.)

Good luck! Hope we both have some good news pretty soon!

Carolina: You know, it's the funniest thing.....I've been working on "preparing" myself for the past few days. Y'know, starting to accept that maybe it's not going to happen this month, maybe I really am ready to start down-shifting now, maybe it's time to throw in the towel on ttc (for good), etc., etc. And, then, I started with all these "symptoms" yesterday........and, instantly, I'm full-speed-ahead again! Crazy, huh????
As that little guy says on the credit card commercial, (as he drives his riding mower aimlessly around his yard, "somebody help me")! Ha. Ha.

ok thanks so much ladies!! I really cant remember any symptoms with DD at all, just that i had 3 - hpt before i finally got my + at 15dpo, and i just kept testing because i "knew"...but this time, i'm feeling crampy, alot yesterday and through last night, but it's pretty much gone now, and i'm pretty sure that good old clomid has given me a cyst WOOHOO!! (I gave in and this is my first clomid cycle...i swore i was gonna go o'naturel this time but i guess it didnt want to work out that way ) But here's my chart if anyone wants to look at it and tell me what you think...and does anyone know what those cramps could have been?

Your chart looks great! Cramping could've been from implantation ... hard to say.

I know it doesnt make logical sense that you would be able to have symptoms before implantation, but I had extreme breast tenderness with my previous m/c pregnancy starting at about 5dpo (i also had a early bfp at 10dpo with this one so i might have implanted early, who knows) I have never had this symptom during any of the many bfn cycles.

another interesting thing, with my m/c, my beta numbers were slightly low, the highest being 93, and my nurse said that the embryo might not have even implanted. I was confused about how I can have HCG in my system with no implantation, but apparently it is possible, which leads me to believe that you CAN have symptoms before implantation.

Well Caridd, thats kinda why i asked this question...i had a chemical pg in May, and the Dr told me that the egg fertilized, but didnt implant, and i got a + hpt at 11dpo (i think)...so it must be possible to have HCG without implantation...i dont know...AHHHH!

child ment / mc ment

I had what I believe to be pg symptoms literally 4dpiui.
I was VERY tired, dizzy, nauseous and had pinches and twinges in my stomach.
I remember telling dh that I KNEW I was pg that early or would be pg, but something was wrong ...
I ended up w/ a m/c at about 14dpiui.

With my first pg which is the result of my 2yr old ds, I didn't have the above symptoms, but I was very tired off the bat from about a day or two after the IUI.
