Help! I cant determine my Ovulation Day
I am very new to charting my temps, and so I signed up for the trial with "Taking Charge of your Fertility" and Fertility Friend... Big mistake! Im getting all sorts of conflicting views.
When I filled in my chart on paper, I thought for sure that I O'd on Day 14. But....TCOYF program (the downloadable computer one) said I O'd on Day 15. FF says I O'd on Day 24 (Advanced Method), Day 16 (FAM Method), and Day 28 (Research Method). I dont know what to think, but I did have a Beta Blood Test (Day 14 and Day 16 - by my calculations). They were both negative, but if FF is correct in that I could of O'd as late as day 24 or 28 ... well, I dont know what to think! Can someone help me by reviewing my chart? I hope there is someone with lots of experience out there that can tell me what to make of all this ... and of course becasue I already thought I O'd we stopped having sex regularily -- GRR! Thanks!!! Jennie

Hi Jennie: I agree with Loyda about O on cd 27. It looks like your coverline would be 96.9 with O on that day.
So frustrating when you O late in your cycle! Do you regularly have long cycles? If you keep temping, you should be able to determine whether this month is a fluke or not. And if it's not and you regularly O around this time, then next month, you'll be able to keep BMSing right through. For this month, there's still a chance the egg was around when you BMS'd on cd 28 (the egg lasts for about 12-24 hours post release). Good luck and keep us posted++++++++++++++ Maura |

If it makes you feel better I charted for YEARS and would have a hard time interpreting that chart. According to the CM, it looks like you O'd when it's marked on the chart. But temps seem to indicate that O occured on cd 27.
How long is your cycle normally? If you are normally around 40 to 45 days, then I would say you are more likely to have O'd on the later date. |

From the first time I had my period until the period before I had my son I was every 30 days - like clockwork. I was never late! Then I had him, and its more like every 28-30 days ... Last month I did have a 40 day cycle, too. I am bf still, but hes 14 months so its only a few times a day (desperately tryign to wean him before #2) Looking at my chart now (in retrospect) I was under some large amounts of stress around day 14 ish so Im wondering if my body tried to ovulate and couldnt? Also in August (my 40 day cycle) the time when I would of ovulated was the weekend of my sons first birthday party - talk about major stress!
I think Im jsut not as regular as I use to be .... Quote:

Hi Jennie: How many cycles have you had since he's been born? Is this only your 2nd one? If so and your last one was 40 days, then I'd be inclined to think that this is going to be another long one. You may be only b'feeding a few times a day, but even that much can throw off your typical (pre-baby) cycle. I would think over time your cycle will probably revert to your normal 30 days.
Good luck and keep us posted++++++++++ Maura p.s. I hope whatever was stressing you out earlier in the month as resolved! |
