Does semen make the cervix soft??
I'm just wondering because i swear i've heard that before and since i am now cervix checking crazy i checked mine after bms tonight (about a half hour) and it was hso, but earlier today it wasnt totally soft...but was still high and open...

hmmm...that's an interesting question. i can tell you this...when women are pg and near or past their due date, the first thing the doc suggests is to have sex. the reason being, the prostaglandins in the semen will help "ripen" the cervix which will signify to the body that it's ready for labor.
if a woman is being induced and her cervix has not started effacing, they introduce prostaglandins to the cervix before they attempt to induce. so.....although i'm not totally sure what effect the semen has on a non-pg cervix, i though this info might be helpful
