Maura - I have a question for you too!

Hi!

I saw your name and couldn't resist popping in to say hi!

I just started a 2ww and there is a post below about how the HCG trigger affects your temps. I was given a link about this, but my blocker would not allow me to view it.

So I would be grateful for your opinion too, please:

CD13 - 36.3 - trigger at 11:00 pm

CD14 - 36.3

CD15 - 36.4 - DIUI at 12:15 pm, easy transfer, fertile mucous

CD15 - 36.3 - small drop

CD17 - 36.8 - finally rose, but after the donor sperm would have expired.

I forgot to add that this was a Clomid/FSH cycle and 0.25 mg of cetrotide was used on CD11 and CD12, to prevent my premature LH surge, I detected with my OPK on CD11.

Hi Dana! How are you?! To me, from temps, it looks like O might have been on cd 15. How long does donor sperm last again? I think I remember up to 24 hours? If so, looks like the timing was good!

Good luck and keep us posted++++++++++++

Hi!

I made a mistake and made two, CD15's above - sorry, typing while under emotional stress often contains errors.

If I go by just BBT temps charting, it looks like I ovulated on CD16.

Donor sperm is great for 12 hours, perhaps good for 18 and sometimes good for 24 hours. I used lots of EPO and guiefenesin to help them swim easily and perhaps live longer. So I would need to have ovulated before noon on CD16.

I forgot to mention that I had 10,000. iu of HCG at 11:00 pm on CD13. Last cetrotide dose was 9:00 pm CD12.

So what do you think with more information?

Dana
Thank you SOOO much for responding so quickly.

Hi Dana! I didn't even notice the two cd 15's... yes, if you go by temps alone, it does look like O was on cd 16. But you're right about the trigger making temps unreliable. I've seen cases here where the trigger raises temps making it seem like O has already occurred when it in fact hasn't. I don't know about the trigger suppressing temps, but I'll keep looking.

I think you have a really good shot still. You had great mucous which would really help prolong the sperm's life. And it's impossible to know exactly when you O'd. If you count 36 hours from the trigger, your timing was perfect.

My fingers are tightly crossed for you! Good luck and keep us posted++++++++++++++

Thank you!

Dana

I found this tonight:

"you can expect to see a temperature increase two days or so following the moment ovulation takes place. You may, in fact, measure a slight dip in your basal temp right before you see the rise. " (from : early-pregnancy-tests.com )

"BBTs should go up within 48 hours of ovulating." (from: fertilityplus.org)

Well Maura,
That explains exactly what happened in my case, doesn't it?

Dana
