prometrium---not sure I ovulated yet?

Hi everybody,

I don't know for SURE that I o'd on Tuesday (because, at first the CM dried up, but now it's back!)....that's one of my major "signs" that I reference.
Also, this month, I had no ovulation pain at all......and my bbs aren't sore as they usually are right after ovulation. Hmmmmmm? I'm already on CD23 (for me, ovulation usually happens around cd19-cd21).

What would happen if I started taking the Prometrium too SOON? I'm supposed to start it at 2 dpo.

I'm kicking myself for not temping....... It would've helped, I'm sure.

Do you think I should go for post-o blood work to verify ovulation? Or, would it be okay to just go ahead and start the prometrium?

whatca think?

T.I.A,
LAMom

LAMom....no, you shouldn't start any form of progest unless you're certain you've alreadty O'd. O can be interupted or prevented if you intoroduce progest too soon.

our body naturally starts producing progest after O has taken place. if you haven't actually O'd or are in the process of and start taking progest, the body will get confused and either stop the O process or not O at all.

if you have an actual progest deficiency (i say *actual* because many doc's prescribe it as a precaution) then you NEED to take it after O and i would then recommend a blood test. if you don't then maybe you can wait a couple of more days. why don't you do an OPK? and don't forget to BMS for good measure

Hi LAMom! I agree with all Dina has said. I would definitely confirm with b/w that you've O'd before starting any prog. supps.

Good luck and keep us posted+++++++++

I'm FINALLY past "O"!!!

Hi ladies,

So, I didn't do the b/w......but everything's changed now. I'm now one dpo.......I can tell it from all the accompanying "signs".

I've only temped for the last three days, but they are higher than my "normal"....Sat: 96.3, Sun: 96.5, Mon: 98.0.

And, I now have the sore bbs, and the CM has gone from VERY ewcm to non-existent.

So, I think that I o'd yesterday and we had bms Tues, Thurs and Sat. (and this a.m., just to 'cover it'.).

I'll start the prometrium tomorrow. Now, on to the 2 ww (again! lol! "for real", I should say!)

Thanks for the help,

LAMom
