Progestrone/Prometrium

I'm currently taking this vaginally, ever since my IUI on 6/1. I'm just curious if anyone else ever got irritated by it before?? This is the first time I've taken it but I'm thinking the irritated feeling is from the pill. I don't totally feel like I have a yeast infection, but yet it's really getting painful. I should have called the doc before the weekend, but I didn't... I'm feeling kinda raw...sorry TMI! Any advice?? Should I just get some monistat and see if it takes care of it? If so, how would I do that - take the monistat that night and not the prometrium, or take both?? TIA!

hmmm, not sure how you could take both diane. is there any chance of you calling your docs office tomorrow?

i know that progest taken vaginally can be very irritating. it can even account for light spotting because it can be so irritating to the cervix.

i wonder if it might be easier on your body to use the suppositories. i used them 2x a day and thankfully didn't suffer any irritation.

I called this AM and the on-call doc suggested that I skip one dose and see how that does. If it's not better, call on Monday and I can go in for a shot.
Luckily she said it was ok to skip a dose, because I did on my own lastnight...I just couldn't imagine doing it again after being so uncomfortable. So, this AM, after talking to the doc, I took my AM dose and seem to be fine again.

diane...i was under the impression that you were taking the pill (designed to be taken orally) vaginally. many women do this and i was wondering if the suppositiories which melt almost immediately might be less irritating.
