Question SA results?

Normally how many days does it take to get the SA result?I think its a computer based test so why should it take more than 1 day?we gave the specimen 2 days back.still didn't get the result.

Hi: I think we got our SA back pretty fast. It all depends on how busy the lab is and how good they are at processing the results and paperwork and then notifying the ordering doctor. I would call and put some pressure on the doctor's office.

Good luck and let us know how you make out++++++++++++++

i think we got ours back within just a couple of days. as maura said, you could call your docs office and advise them that your dh had his appt and they can probably get a verbal if you're really over anxious about it.

good luck!

Hello*!!! I think for ken we got the first results in a week actually....and the 2nd one Ken had to keep calling and calling....they couldn't give any results over the phone and the urologist worked out a few different offices, so we had to wait on HIM.....

It all depends on the lab and the dr. We have used a few different labs and it took from hours to a week to hear the results. The lab we only waited hours for was at the RE and not very busy, were as the others were busier because serviced many places. Call and ask is the best, it will help to calm and not stress about when the results arrive.

The report has arrived at the doctor's office. But the doctor has left for the day. They say only the doctor can reveal the report.so we'll have to wait till monday....Are they waiting for the doctor to reveal because there is a problem or is this a normal procedure even if the results are good?

nah....it's probably just their policy. it would be equivelant to asking the receptionist at your PCP to review your bloodwork. and i don't know about you, but i would want THAT!

Hello*!!! I would think that it is also policy....that is what happened to Ken's sa results.... and even for example I couldn't get my mid cycle u/s report until MY RE signed off on the sheet.....
