Progesterone Level Question........

My Doctor called me at the house last night. I had my blood draw on cd21 to see if I ovulated. My progesterone level was 5.9. That was 2dpo. Should I be worried that it was so low? My Doctor said she would have liked to have seen it at 8. She is calling in another prescription for Clomid just in case.

Thanks in advance!!

are you certain of your O day? this could account for the low progest. and if your doc's concerned about low progest, why not call in a script for that instead of looking to next cycle?

According to FF and my OPK, they both say cd19 (although, I also got a + on my OPK on cd17).

I am on 4dpo today. Is it too late to start progesterone? I have some waiting to be used. LOL

I would ask for a rx for progesterone. They gave me some to take as soon as the IUI was complete. I take it vaginally, each day and night. It's not exactly fun, but if it's supposed to be the "good" thing to do, then why not?!
Good luck!

Hello*!!! could you also see if you can get a progesterone draw at 7dpo??? That would be the most ideal time... BUT I also agree with starting progesterone as well. I take prometrium to help with my low progesterone...I am supposed to start it 2 days after O, but this cycle I am I starting it 3dpo just to make sure that my eggy(ies) did ovulate...

Hi there: I agree with the others ... I would take progesterone now and see if you can boost up the level ... it may be that the level was low because you had just O'd two days before (it doesn't peak until about 7 dpo) .... still it doesn't hurt to try to get the number up if you can just in case!

Good luck and keep us posted++++++++++
