please help decipher my temps!?
Hi everybody, I'm new.
I'm 6mo postpartum, and just getting back into the swing of charting...not because we want to conceive just yet, but just to have some awareness of fertility. I've been charting for this cycle, but things are kind of hard to interpret because: 1. I'm breastfeeding, and still breastfeeding at night--making it extra hard to get a consistent temp, as my night and morning wake-up times vary considerably. 2. I didn't make note of my cm or cp. (i know...lame. what can i say? i'm chasing a six-month old around all day) 3. I'm on cd 22 and have not been able to pinpoint O...it might be an anovulatory cycle, with bfing and all, but I usually don't have long cycles (26-32days, with a 14 day lp) and am assuming that I would have ovulated by now if i'm going to at all. These are my temps: cd1: 96.6 cd2: 96.6 cd3: 96.6 cd4: 96.4 cd5: n/a cd6: 96.6 cd7: 96.8 cd8: 96.9 cd9: 96.8 cd10: 97.0 cd11: 97.1 cd12: 97.0 cd13: 96.8 cd14: 96.8 cd15: 97.1 cd16: 97.6 cd17: 97.1 cd18: 96.9 cd19: 97.6 cd20: 97.4 cd21: 97.1 cd22:97.0 So, the question is: did I ovulate? When? There's a jump in temps, but not consistently. What do you think? Thanks to everyone and anyone in advance.

Hi and welcome
!Have you started getting AF since having your baby? I don't see O yet from your temps. I was thinking that cd 15 was a possibility since you have that big jump on cd 16, but if you did O then, your coverline would be 97.2 and that would mean that 4 of your "post-O temps" would be below your coverline (and only 3 above). Now perhaps your erratic sleep schedule ( ) is making it hard to see your "real" temps, so it's still a possibility ... but from temps alone, I don't see O yet.Good luck and keep us posted++++++++++ Maura |

Thanks, BC-Maura for responding!
Yes, I got my first pp AF at 7 weeks postpartum. (exclusively bfing and all!!! ahh!) First few cycles were anovulatory, then two that seemed fertile, but I didn't chart--and now this one. Temps for the last two days have jumped to 98.1, so I'm guessing I ovulated on Sunday (CD 23), which is very late for me. Anyhoo, dh and I didn't bd till a good 24-36 hours after that, so no baby for us this cycle, I'm guessing. *sigh* It's probably for the best, but I always feel like I lost a game or something when that happens. lol. Thanks again, and best of luck to all you ladies! |
