Question Anyone go from clomid days 3-7 to 5-9?

If so what was the outcome? How did your "O" day differ?

I ask because my ob/gyn always did days 3-7 and got my surge/peak on
cd13. I've since moved to an RE and he has me do days 5-9 this cycle and it is now cd15 and STILL no surge/peak!!!!

Can the days you take Clomid affect your "O" day that much?

Anyone "O" after cd15?

Thanks!!!

I have never taken clomid days 3-7, always took it days 5-9. I usually didn't o until day 17 or 18, but I was a late ovulater even off the clomid. Not very helpful I am sure. Good luck.

Hello*!!! from what I know about the difference is that it allows your follies to start growing on their own and actually get bigger...BUT I am not for sure...I always took it cd=3-7 (wait one cycle 4-8 because of appt time). Did they say why they wanted you to do it later this cycle???

hi! My clinic's handout about clomid says, "ovulation should occur aprox. 8 days after last pill is taken." I know I am always an early O'er but when I took clomid days 5-9 I O'd on cd18. Interestingly enough on injectables im usually ready for iui by cd12. you should be seeing that pos. opk soon! good luck!

Thank you all for the answers and support!

Cd17 today and no +opk.

Hopefully tomorrow. The Re's nurse said that if I don't have a surge by cd21, my cycle is then considered a bust and they will start me on Provera to bring on Af and try again.

If that happens, I don't care what they say, I am taking the Clomid on days 3-7.
At least then I know I ovulate AND I ovulate by cd15.

Yeah. I'm a rebel.

I am not an expert on Clomid, but I thought my experience might help. I took clomid this month on days 3-7. I never got a +OPK but I was monitored by US on day 12 (leading follicle was 16) and on day 14 (leading follicle was 20). On day 14 I still had not gotten a + OPK so they gave me a trigger shot. I didn't have an IUI because I have to travel 2.5 hours to my RE and the nurse gave me the wrong information and I didn't plan for extra days off of work. Are you getting any monitoring or just relying on OPKs? If I had gone by OPK's I might have missed ovulation or if I didn't have the trigger shot I might not have ovulated until the follicle was to big?. I have PCOS. For me the Ultrasound and the trigger shot were very important. I hope this helps and if you have any questions I would be happy to 'try' to help. Good luck!!

A little history...I have taken clomid (up to 200 mg/day) years ago and without monitoring and the trigger shot I didn't ovulate. I think without the trigger shot I don't release the egg because of the PCOS (just my guess).
