Beta # 2... can I cry now??

I am so sick of this crap! I feel like I am on a rollercoaster... my DR's office called me late this afternoon... I had a feeling something was wrong because they would not call me back... .... then the nurse finally called- she said my nubers did not double... and I needed to come in first thing monday morning to see another DR- (my dr didnt have an available appointment)- she said we would have to do another beta- and they wanted me to wait there after I saw the DR- as they were going to process my results ASAP- and I would know what the numbers were before I left... so I am crying my eyes out- the way the nurse said it all- made it sound like I should expect the worse

here are the numbers:

Tues Jan 23... 12:00pm 7,730 *21 DPO
Thur Jan 25... 9:15am 10,964 *23 DPO

I just dont understand- I know my numbers didnt double- but they are still pretty darn high I think- so why are they making me feel like something is wrong with me .... I feel pretty good besides being worried- still no cramping... and absolutely no bleeding... but it seems to me like they are just expecting me to miscarry... and it's really stressing me out... ... I am trying not to worry- but this last call has really put me in a panic... I just want this baby to be ok... I'm so worried. So sorry for dragging you girls on this rollercoaster with me ... thanks for listening though ... I don't mean for it to seem like I am craving attention here- I guess I just needed to vent to people who I know would understand ... well... I guess I'll go in at 8:00am monday morning for a visit with another *new* DR- and for *another* beta... and for *more* stress... then I'll go back the next day for *another* ultrasound- to see if I still have a "feasible pregnancy" in there

Hope you don't mind the barge....

I was looking at some charts on different websites and your numbers are in the normal range plus I heard that after you reach the 1,000 mark they don't really double that fast anymore. I hope you have a fighter on your hands and this numbers were just that...nothing but numbers.

I have also heard that once numbers hit a certain level, they don't double anymore. In fact, I don't think I ever did a repeat beta after 21dpIUI (dpo). My numbers for my DD at 21dpIUI was 2100 and for DS at 21dpIUI, I think it was 2400. Sooo I truly think your clinic may be worrying you for no reason. Your numbers are great for your dpo. Please take it easy and see what they say on Monday. You are also past 5 weeks now, can they not do a quick u/s to ease your mind? Sending all the +++ thoughts I can, big deep breathe and use the mantra one of my beautiful fellow FTers started. ' today, I am pregnant ' It saved my sanity more than once. (((HUGS)))

I agree that your numbers are really high and they don't double like normal when they get that high. I am not sure your first number was even right in the first place. Maybe you had 2 and one isn't going to make it. My Beta with my first son wasn't even 3000 at 21dpo.

Also, Betas are great, but not exact. You can have silly up and downs and still have a beautiful heartbeat next week. Also if they had taken early betas I bet they wouldn't even be checking them now and they wouldn't think anything of it as your first betas obviously doubled like crazy!

Hugs..I hope Monday comes soon, but maybe you can ask for an u/s soon next week too as you should see a h/b by next Friday if all goes well.

oh brandi, hon, i'm so sorry your doctors office is being d*ckheads!

those numbers are great! seriously! after you hit a certain point, they don't double anymore! they should stop the beta's and just do u/s's now, to see the yolk sac, fetal pole, and a week or so down the road, the heartbeat!

and there WILL be a heartbeat!

holding you and your little belly bean in my thoughts and prayers!

Brandi: I totally agree with what the others said! Your number is still going up and at a good clip. Betas don't have to exactly double in 48 hours. If I were you, I'd stop the betas and just go by u/s now. If your doctor is already going to do an u/s on Tuesday, then I can't see how the beta on Monday is going to advance the ball any. You are not bleeding or cramping and that is so reassuring.

I'm so sorry that you're going through this agony. It is SO hard. {{{HUGS}}}

Please keep us posted.... sending you lots of +++++

Brandi, the others are right. Your numbers are still going up hon and at this point they do slow down with the doubling time so it is no longer 48 -72 hours. I know it is hard, but hang in there. My prayers are with you,
Pecan
