ovulation after m/c

Is it possible to ovulate a week after a miscarriage? I had a m/c on 1/14 and on 1/21 I had what I thought were ovulation pains, so I took an OPK and it was VERY positive. I thought it would take much longer to ovulate after a miscarriage...anyone have this experience with a positive outcome? Even a pregnancy immediately following a miscarriage?

I'm sorry for your loss. I would suspect that you still had HCG in your system, which would give you a positive OPK, since they are similar looking alpha and beta chains. However, I guess anything is possible!

Take care,
Jan

udpate

I spoke to my nurse and she tells me that my hcg levels were too low to cause a positive OPK. She thinks I ovulated!

I am so very very sorry for your loss!!! I would say that if the DR said you wouldnt have enough hcg in your system to spark a false + hpt-- then it is likely the opk is +. are you temping at all?? or keeping track of cm and cp... this could also tell you alot about where you are at in your cycle... and could possibly help you confirm your ovulation. best of luck to you!!! I hope it was O for you and that soon you will be well on your way to a happy, healthy pregnancy!!

Hi: I'm so sorry about your m/c.... {{{HUGS}}}

From your signature, I am guessing it was an early m/c? If so, yes, it is possible to O a week after the m/c because when the loss is early, your body can easily resume regular cycling.

Good luck and may this be the one++++++++++++
