Did I Ovulate??

Okay folks, I am so confused... Doctor says no because I did a progesterone test on CD21 and it was low (he didn't give me the #), but I thought I did, my chart looks like I did and now I am showing early PG signs (test was still negative, but it is a bit early. Any thoughts?

Hi there: If the temps recorded in your chart are accurate (I see some "clear" dots, so I wasn't sure if the temps are reliable for those days), then it looks like you did O on either cd 17 with a temporary fallback on cd 19 or on cd 19 (you'd have to "rule of thumb" out that temp on cd 18 in that case). One reason your cd 21 progesterone test might not have shown O (did you have it done on cd 21?) is that if you had just O'd, the number would have been low -- because you just O'd! The best time to do a progesterone test is at 7 dpo... in this case, I would have done it on either cd 24 or cd 26.

If you can, wait another couple of days and then try with another HPT. I recommend ClearBlue Easy or e.p.t. And at that point if you still haven't gotten AF or a ++ HPT, I'd ask for a beta.

Best of luck and keep us posted!

I have to agree with Maura- it definitly looks like O to me too... did you show your dr your chart or temps?? or are they saying you didnt O only because of your progesterone levels??? your levels would definitly not be that high if you were only 3dpo.... hopefully they can schedule you another test... goodlcuk to you!! keep us posted!!

The doctor basically discounted my chart - said you can't really rely on charting because you are looking at "such small changes in temperature". He did order another Progesterone test but I never got the results

Now AF isn't here and Fertility Friend has removed my O line too - was going to wait until tomorrow morning to test again but now I am wondering if I should bother?! I wondered if I could be prego but now I don't know what to think.

Hi Carrie: That's too bad that your doctor discounted your chart. Temping may not work for everyone, but I think for most people it does! And I think your chart shows ovulation. Did FF put back the O date? I still see it there....

Anyway, I'd try an HPT if you haven't already. And if not that, I'd get a beta.

Good luck and keep us posted++++++++++++

I put the O date back in for now until I know more. I might try one more HPT tomorrow morning and see what it says, but if it is neg then I think that is it... Can an HPT be negative and the beta show pregnancy??

Hi Carrie: For some reason I didn't pick up that you had already tested! Anyway, yes, you can get a negative HPT despite being pg when testing in the early stages. If you continue to get negative HPTs, you can either wait it out and see if you get AF or you can get a beta.

Good luck and keep us posted+++++++++++

So I know the answer - AF arrived today But I also find it hopeful because despite FF and the OBGYN said I didn't O and I obviously did! So I get to try again next cycle...

Oh, I'm so sorry, Carrie. I hope that this next cycle is the one too.... I would definitely keep temping and when you see the rise, I'd wait a week and then get a progesterone test and see what the level is.

Fingers crossed for you... keep us posted and GOOD LUCK+++++++++++
