Periods while on clomid

Do your periods shorten while on clomid? I was on 50mg this month, and my period was almost nonexsistant. Usually the first two days it's fairly heavy, but it's been unusally light this month (I am on cd3). I start clomid again on Sunday.

I'd never thought of this before - but YES! My periods have been shorter since I've been on Clomid. It seems they get shorter each cycle.

Hello*!!! actually mine was shortened as well, but for the reason that LeslieK stated...my lining was a lot thinner while on clomid. Might be something you talk to your DR about though. Good luck this cycle*!!!

I actually never got my period on my first cycle of clomid. The doctor had to enduce me with Provera. She thought it was very weird. I am on approximately day 58 of my cycle which has been extremely frustrating. I should be getting my period soon though so I will have to see how many days it is.

I've always have had a normal 30 day cycle. But since I have been on clomid I have had cycles that are only 26-28 days and that are only 3 days.

Thanks ladies. I still can't figure it out. I mean, I did have a bit of spotting and used a tampon (sorry if there's tmi). There was only a slight bit on the tampon after several hours. Now I have used a pad all day, and nothing not even a spot. Does this really count as my period? Can't get ahold of the dr until monday. I am supposed to start clomid on sunday, do you think I should?

Hi LeslieWI,
I am wondering if this isn't just pre-AF spotting and you will get a real flow soon? That has happened to be before, but I wasn't on Clomid. Do you temp? If so, are your temps down?

Leslie: Are you sure you didn't O last month? How was your O monitored? Did you have an u/s or bloodwork? If so, on what cd?

If there's any chance you might have O'd last month, I wouldn't start the Clomid until you take an HPT to rule out (or rule in!) pg. You just never know! I never took Clomid, so can't speak from experience about periods on Clomid, but what you describe doesn't sound like a period.

Good luck and let us know how you're doing!

I was not monitored. I had a progesterone bloodwork done on cd21, and was told that I did not O. I don't think that I O'd after that.
