2nd Beta Results
Well, things aren't looking too good for me today. The lab just called, here are today's numbers.
15dpo HCG: 75 Progesterone: 22 The HCG didn't double. Here are the numbers from 2 days ago.13dpo HCG - 55 Progesterone - 22 I have to go back for a third beta on Monday (18dpo) to see if this pg is viable. *sigh* It's gonna be a loooooong weekend. for me everyone!

Oh hun, I am sorry, but the positive thing is the numbers are rising, I think someone will be able to shed light on that, and I bet you anything someone else has had this happen, and they went on to deliver a beatuful bundle of joy! Stay positive

Hi Krysi, sorry you did not get that reassuring doubling right away. There are ladies on the due date board who went through beta h*** initially and either delivered already or are doing well with their pgcys. Sometimes it's a late implanter or maybe started out with multiples and all did not make it.
I'll be sending prayers that your little miracle will keep growing. I know how hard the waiting can be. Hugs, Pecan |

I agree, your number didn't double, but it did go up. And maybe that first number was just high for you. I started out slow so my first preg I had 64 for a 15dpo#. It shot off after that like crazy.
Hugs..So sorry that this always happens over the weekend too! |

More ++++ thoughts for you. I really would't get too worried right now because the doubling thing is really more of a guidepost than a requirement. And I think sometimes it is more like 3 days than just 2. Keep in mind that really small things -- like the time of day that the two betas were drawn -- could make a difference, too. The number going up is what is important, and yours is -- that's a good sign!

Krysi: I agree with the others... the next beta will tell you more than this one did... the fact that it's going up is good ... as the others said, not every pg starts off with the requisite doubling... I had a friend (a doctor) who was convinced her pg was doomed because she said it was "impossible" for it to be otherwise given the progression of the betas... but she was wrong! She had a healthy boy
.So, fingers crossed that the next set of tests reassures you and that this pg is a healthy pg... Good luck and keep us posted! ++++++++++++ Maura |
