Discouraged
Well, I'm discouraged and confused...
I started AF on 1/1/07 and was hoping to be on a better path...but then yesterday, I started getting pains on my lower left side. This isn't too strange for me with my PCOS, but I was bummed. Then, today, I was feeling really bad. I went to the bathroom and there was a TON of blood (Sorry, TMI). I'm guessing that I had a large cyst that burst, but I'm still in pain... What do you all think??? TIA. PCtwinz7

I am a PCOSer too and you very well could have had a large cyst burst. Just because you had one doesn't mean that there is only one. Also, once it bursts you may not feel completely better as your body is still used to the cyst being there.
On the other hand I have horrible ovulation pain for about 12-14 hours, especially if I have a cyst on that ovary. Any chance you could be ovulating as well as having an old cyst. I know that I double over when I ovulate so I for sure know every time I do so. Do you have any signs of ovulation? Hugs p.s. If the pain doesn't go away it wouldn't hurt to see your Dr. and get an u/s done to see what is going on. Earlier this year I had on going pain with frequent urination and we discovered I had a baseball sized cyst on one ovary one month, that one burst and then the next month I had one on the other side. Definitely was very uncomfortable and it wouldn't hurt to see if that is what is going on with you. |

I don't have a success story, yet but just wanted to offer a suggestion. I agree completely with Chris...it could be ovualtion. I also have PCOS and did have a great deal of pain with ovulation until my ovarian drilling. Have you had an exploratory laproscopy (spelling). That might help to see what's going on if the u/s does not show any helpful results.
I hope things get better. Clar

I guess I could be O'ing but it seems kinda early?? Would I really be bleeding like that though? I just bled really heavily yesterday but just barely today. I still have pain and the more I move, etc the worse it gets. I have my fingers crossed it's from O'ing but if not and the pain persists, I'll see the doctor next week. Thanks for the encouraging replies!!

Hi PCtwinz,
I hope you feel better and that it turns out ok. Hey Clar- I see you are in NC. I'm in Durham. Just wondering what part you're in and what clinic you attend? It's always nice to meet people close by who are going through the same things I am with the fight for children. Another person wanted to try to put together a local group if you're interested. I haven't heard back from her yet, but if you are interested, you can e-mail me at ahirth@fmrealty.com Andrea |

Hi: I'm glad you're feeling better too. I defer to to Chris and clar who can speak from experience. If you were on cd 11 when it started, it is not too soon for ovulatory pain (the pain can precede the actual release of the egg). If it comes back and/or you feel worse in any way, definitely get it checked out. Better to know than to worry and wonder!
Good luck and keep us posted++++++++++ Maura |

Well, almost instantly after posting lastnight, the bleeding came back, and just as bad. I'm so upset. I called the Dr today and they got me right in. They feel that I can wait a few more days (since that is what I really wanted) but they said that if this does not stop SOON, I need to have a D&C and laproscopy to see if I have endo or anything else like that. I do have PCOS already so I dont know what else there could be... I had about 1/2 of my blood supply taken today for bloodwork!! Boy was I glad when that was done!! So, anyway... I'll keep you posted but it looks like next week could be the surgeries...

I am sooooo sorry honey. I hope you get some answers and feel better. Did they do an ultrasound? I hope you feel better once again.
Clar
