Pre-O temp question
If you get a pre-O temp dip does that mean you are Oing that day or the next? I am confused. My temps are a little higher than usual and I saw the "pre-O dip" on another thread and was wondering about it. Thanks for all the help!!

"Dip before rise: You may see a slight temperature dip before your temperature rise. If you are lucky enough to get advanced warning of ovulation like this over several cycles, it is a good way to time intercourse very close to ovulation. You may, however have a dip that is not followed by a sustained rise and mistakenly assume ovulation is imminent when you see a dip. An individual dip on its own does not tell you anything about ovulation or your fertility. "
Thats what FF says. The way its typed, i'm assuming its the day of? It's really not all that clear. I'll have take a look at some charts that have the pre-o dip. edit: Looks like most of the charts on FF have it the day of. Good luck!

Hey Julie: From the charts I've seen, women who get a pre-O dip, usually (although not always) get it on the day of O... they then see their ovulatory rise the next day. Don't worry if you don't see a dip, though.. not everyone gets it!
Best of luck and keep us posted+++++++++++ Maura Last edited by BC-Maura; 11-02-2006 at 03:27 PM. |

My dip always occurs a day or two before O. Check out my charts for the past few months to see...

I think I O'd on the day of my dip because of when I got my +opk and because my temp has been high the past 2 days. I will post my chart after FF establishes my coverline and pinpoints my O day to see if we all agree-lol!! Thanks for the info. If I am right about my O then I guess I'd be 2dpo-yipee!! DH & I BMS'd yesterday just to be sure so I think all bases are coverd.

Looks like FF says O was the day of my dip-bummer- we couldn't BMS the day before because dh worked (24hr shift) but we covered all the other days so hopefully that will be good enough.
Shel76-looks like we are cycle buddies-I love to have someone to obsess with. It's been awhile since I've obsessed...I am sure it'll all come back to me quick!! LOL!! Check out my chart: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/ff7c6 Julie |

Hey Jules: I might put O on cd 17 actually, because your temp on cd 17 is the same as your temp on cd 15 so it's not "technically" a rise over your previous 6 temps. But either way, you did cover with BMS just fine this month
!All the best and fingers tightly crossed for you ++++++++++++Maura |
