Cross Ovulation

I'm only working with one good tube, as the middle section of my right one had to be removed with an ectopic 6 years ago. I recall something somewhere that mentioned your body "knows" it has a bad tube and will ovulate more often on the good side, and that the opposite tube can actually reach over and grab the egg from the opposite ovary I have been having twinges/pain on my bad side starting last night and off and on today and the same thing last month...anyone have some good info on this subject?
Thanks!

Yes!!! I know someone who lost a tube due to an etopic and got pg after 2 months of ttc (she thought she would never get pg again)!! She actually O'd from her bad side and the good side picked it up and she got pg...so it's very possible!! Best wishes to you!!

pg ment'd

i have heard this as well shel. so yes, the body can often recognize a deficiency in one area and make up for it in other ways.

i actually watched a special once where the mother of 5 had a tubal ligation and became pg with #6 anyway. she was in the OR getting ready for a c/s and she and her doc were discussing the removal of her tubes all together after the baby was delivered. the woman commented on how at least with the tubes completely gone she'll never have to worry about becoming pg again. the doctor laughed and said....uh, not true! as long as you have ovaries and a uterus, there's always the possibility of pg! the woman about fell off the table!

I'm one of those tubless gals. Unfortunately you don't always ovulate on your good side. You also don't alternate every other month--sometimes it is 2 months one side and then the other.
I have had a successful pg after the removal of my tube.
i've also had 3 uterine pg since then which failed for reasons other than the tube.
I did manage to get pg once and it lodged in the stump that was removed, we later found out that I put a hole in it.
Anything is possible, I wish you the best of luck!!
