i called the radiology department of the hospital to schedule my HSG. First off, the lady (I think it was a lady) was really rude. But oh well. Anyways, she/he told me I have to have this done between cd 7-10. However, I could have sworn my dr said to do this before next cycle because it may throw the whole clomid thing out of the water. I told the woman/man that the dr said this, and she/he said it was standard procedure to do it between cd 7 -10 and they will only do it then.
Does this sound right? Or was he/she just being a b!tch/b@st@rd?

I was so worked up, I completely forgot to mention how confused I am by my latest temp. Could someone look at my chart and tell me if I have the right to be confused about it.

I don't recall what CD I had my HSG, but I would call you dr. and confirm when she wants you to have it. Tell her what the radiology dept. told you, and if she wants it done before that, she (or her office) can call the hospital to arrange it. I would think that you could still do a round of clomid this cycle, even if you haven't had the HSG, though I totally understand the frustration of wanting everything in place!!!
ETA -- Actually, now that I think about it, it makes perfect sense that you would want to do the HSG in the early (pre-O) part of your cycle. If you are actively trying to conceive this month, you wouldn't want to do an HSG after you've O'd, just in case you did conceive. It also makes sense that your dr. probably wouldn't give you the clomid until after the HSG results were in, so that she knew what she was working with (i.e. if blockage is the problem, the clomid won't do you any good). So I would confirm with your dr. that cd 7-10 (or whatever days the hospital said they schedule them) is okay for the HSG then go ahead and schedule it for next month. As for your chart -- it looks okay to me. I'd guess today (cd 15) you had a pre-O drop, so I would expect it to shoot up tomorrow. I'll leave the final analysis to Maura and some of the other "experts" here, though

I agree with Cassie... It makes sense that u do the hsg in the pre-o phase. I had to do mine also in the pre-o phase also, i don't remember exactly what cd but i know i was just finishing my period.
About your chart, i think also is a pre o dip, maybe u will ovulate soon... Good luck! |

kimkaye...i don't remember with 100% certainty, but that sounds familiar. my doc also wanted me to do a HPT prior to the test. i agree with cassie in that i would just call your doc to confirm the days.
as for your temp, it looks like it could be an O dip. i don't know if you usually get that, but i got it every month. additionally you have marked down that you have ewcm today so i would hit the ground running! good luck!

Yes, she was correct. It is to protect you. If you have it done in the time that you O, you could end up with an etopic pregnancy. I would be worried if they didnt ask where you were in your cycle. I was asked 3 times before I had my test. Your DR should also know this information.
http://www.ivf.com/hsg.html it states... Generally there is no special preparation needed for this test. However, depending upon your diagnosis, you may need to take antibiotics to guard against possible infection. To ensure that you are not pregnant, the study is done between Day 7 and 10 of your cycle. Best Wishes! |

Hi there: I don't know that I had it done between cd 7-10, but I am sure that I had it done in my follicular phase before O because I was told to try for sure after the HSG because there is a greater chance of conceiving after an HSG!
As for your temps, they look like normal pre-O temps to me (today's was rather low, but that happens every now and then!). Keep BMSing until that temp goes up and stays up! Hoping that you won't need that HSG next month... but if you do, make sure you call and set it up so that you can get an appt. within that short window they give you! Best of luck and keep us posted+++++++++++ Maura |

maybe i was just cold yesterday, or slept with my mouth open. I honestly expected my temp to do something spectalur today. I thought it was too early for O. Usually O doesn't happen until c17 for me. hmmmm.
