Ovulation / HSG Question

Hi Ladies,

I am sure that this question has probably been asked...if I had a HSG this cycle can that delay ovulation? I use the CBFM and in prior cycles I show a peak fertility around day 15-17. It is now day 19 and still no peak. I have been on high fertility since day 13. OK, I did forget to test on day 12 (overslept)- did I mess up the monitor up for this cycle? I also started taking Fertility Blend and have been on it for about a month- can that change things? I really want to take advantage of having the HSG done since all is clear and normal.

Thanks for your help!

Lisa

lisa, i don't think there's any reason that an HSG would delay O. do you have any other bodily signs? ewcm, ovary pain/twinges?

i'm honeslty not sure about the missed day.

i would think if anything, the fertility blend might be the thing that's responsible for a longer cycle.

if you're afraid of missing your surge, i would start BMS'ing, and maybe do the every other day thing until you figure out what's going on. then if you get your surge, you can get a few consecutive days of BMS.

good luck!

Thank you for your reply...I do have some cm, but not as plentiful as it was a few days ago. I feel bloated (a little like when I did injectables) so I am thinking I did not O yet- but this is wierd. I will continue BMS today in hope that I get a peak tomorrow.

Thanks again.

Hi Lisa!
I had the same experience this cycle. I took letrozole (Femara) CD3-7, had an HSG on CD5 (no blockage - yay!), and I too had a delayed O. I ALWAYS O days 14-16, evident by +OPK's and increase in temps on CD17. Anyway, this month, I didn't get my surge until late in the day on CD20, O'd on CD22. So, maybe there is something to be said about HSG's and delayed O? I thought that I had read on another posting that if you have an HSG in the early follicular phase it could delay O, but I am not sure.

I'll bet your O is right around the corner. I thought I wouldn't O this month, but I eventually did. Keep on testing. Do you temp?

Hi Lisa: I think the fertility blend could delay O, but I think HSGs can also delay O (my O was a little later the month I had my HSG)... I would keep testing and BMSing and see if you get your peak over the next few days!

Good luck and keep us posted++++++++

Hi

Thank you for the replies...I do not temp- mainly because I am up and down almost every night and I think my temps would be hard to read. I do monitor my cm and cervix- so I am pretty sure I have not ovulated yet. I wish I could just go in for follicle monitoring every cycle and then I'd know for sure what 's going on- but that would be expensive- especially since I do not have infertility coverage. I'll just continue using my clearblue monitor, BMS, and pray!

Thanks so much for your replies- you are a wonderful resource and your assurance is comforting.
