Advice Please...

Hi Ladies,

I just had a couple questions- hopefully you can help. I have been charting my mucus and using the CBFM. I noticed last month that my mucus "peaked" on cycle day 13, and my peak on the CBFM was cycle day 15. Has anyone else ever seen this? I did BMS on both days- just to be sure- but I thought they should peak together.

My other question is that my progesterone was 13.3 on day 21 and 15.9 on day 24- do you think that is adequate or should I ask for a suppliment.

We have been trying au natural- no drugs- at least so far.

Thanks so much for your help!

Hi there: Many women find that their cm is not in sync with their LH surge... you can take guaifenesin to try to improve your cm so that you have good cm when you need it, at O time.

For BMS, I would do as you do, BMS on any day you see good cm AND when you see your peak. I would also BMS for the two days following your peak as O can happen up to two days after the OPK/Monitor shows a peak. Just make sure to leave 24 hours in between sessions to allow sperm to rejuvenate.

As for your progesterone, my OB liked to see prog. above 10... some other doctors like to see it above 15 or 20. Ask your doctor what he/she thinks about your numbers. If it were me, I might try extra progesterone just because I'd want to be SURE that I had enough to sustain the pg.

Best of luck and let us know if you have any other questions.

i can't really add to what maura's already said.

i usually notice abundant ewcm about 3 days before i O. i think once you start bms'ing, it's also hard to distinguish between cm and dh's residual.

it sounds like you did a good job covering yourself either way! good luck!
