What should I think?
Ok ladies! I'm having some strange symptoms so I wanted to post to see if I should start to get a little excited or if I'm reading into everything too much!
Keep in mind that this is a natural cycle for me... the only thing I'm taking is 200mg of Prometrium from CD16-CD25 because I have low progesterone after O. This cycle I O'd on CD16 (confirmed by OPK only, but I never had a problem Oing on my own). Today is CD22. My boobs started to be sore on CD 17...but I attribute that to the Prometrium pills....but since then, every day my boobs are more and more painful and swollen. (TMI) -My nipples are also getting darker right in the middle...my dh laughed at me because he said they look like bullseyes! ha ha....so even he notices a difference. My other symptoms are: Lower back pain and slight cramping. I also have had quite an appetite for the past 2 days. AF is expected this Sunday coming up (Oct.22). I'm trying to hold off on taking a HPT until Friday which would be 10DPO...I've never tested that early... I always wait til 13 or 14 DPO....I don't think I can wait that long this time though...not with all these symptoms! I even went to CVS this morning before work to stock up on EPT's. Any thoughts on this would be great. Sorry. I didn't BBT this cycle because I was sick with a fever for almost a week and figured it would be all messed up.

This is going to be a long week waiting to test...I'm going to try my hardest to wait until Sunday to test...since that is when AF is expected....

Hi there: I hope that these new symptoms are a sign of good things to come
. Question for you -- why do you expect AF on Sunday? Is your luteal phase only 11 days long? Good luck and keep us posted++++++++++++++ Maura |

I expect AF 3 days after my last Prometrium pill very late in the evening....I take the last pill this month on Thursday. So I expect to see AF late Sunday after dinner. So that almost makes my LP 12 days. My doctor's plan is for me to take the Prometrium for 10 days after O and then if I get a ++HPT any time after that, then to take the Prometrium again until I can get in to get a blood test to check my progesterone levels since that's how I lost my first pregnancy. If I keep taking the Prometrium, AF will never show her face and I won't start a new cycle...that's my experience in the past.

My doctor said as long as my LP is 11 days, I should be ok... anything less than 10 makes him concerned. But, I know the longer the LP, the better it is to maintain a pregnancy. Do you think taking an extra Vitamin B supplement on top of my prenates will help lengthen the LP? Or, easier yet...take one more day of the Prometrium (11 days, instead of 10)? I'm just thinking out loud.

I used to take the B-6.. cant rememeber when or how much..
Also.. why would you only take the prometrium for 10 days? Wouldnt you take it until there was no chance of being preg? If you stop taking it too soon, that is also not good. Wanted to wish you the best of luck. As for the sore bbs.. its hard to say since I seemed to always have them. Mine did get perky right at testing time the last cycle month.. that was so odd.. Hugs! |

Ferrett Mommy and Cassie.... your insight is exactly what I'm concerned about...having too low of a progesterone level when I stop the Prometrium and then losing another pregnancy really early...but my doctor never told me to take the Prometrium differently...I just had an ultrasound today to check on the size of a cyst I had (I hope it is no longer there now)...so maybe when he calls me tomorrow with the results, I can ask him if I should take the Prometrium for a few more days maybe to 14 DPO or 15 DPO and take HPTs to see if I get a ++....and if I don't then I can stop the pills to make AF start. I'll have to see what he says..even though my heart tells me to keep taking it until I get a definite negative, I don't like to go against doctor's orders.
My symptoms are still the same...so I'm still keeping my fingers crossed! Thanks ladies!! I really hope this is it for me!! I want to keep the BFP trend going this month too... we've had so many this month!!! |
