when can I test

I o'd last week, 10-5, 10-6, 10-7....We had BMS every day....my period is due on 10-18, (I O later in my cycle). We have been on injectible but sat out this month due to residual cysts....When is the earliest you think I can test. Any input would be appreciated.....

hi chasesmommy.....

i'm confused about a couple of things...

do you know which day you actually O'd on? if you O'd on 10-7, you shouldn't get AF on 10-18. that would make your LP too short. even of you O late, you should still have a LP of at least 12 days. anything shorter than that can be a flag and prevent implantation.

as far as testing, i'm a fan of waiting as long as possible as there are too many false neg's before 14 dpo. you can even get a false neg at 14 dpo, but your chances of accuracy are still higher than at 10 dpo.

now I am confused. MY LP is about 10-11 days....I was told that anything between 10-16 days is o.k. I don't know...If I am not PG this month, when I go to RE for CD3 monitoring I am going to definately mention this. I was told a lot of this when I started trying to conceive my DS, it's been well over 2 years. But, now I am a little worried???!!!!!

Best Wishes...

You can implant from like 6 to even 14 DPO I believe. You want AF to come after the average time of 14 dpo to make sure that implantation can happen before AF. If you implant on 7 dpo... and AF is due on 10 dpo.. then that may not be enough time for the progesterone and other hormones to tell your body to not have AF.

I would talk to your dr if you have a LP shorter than 12 days if it were me. I have been there and with clomid and supps we got it to about 15 days. When I got off the meds.. my body finally got the clue on its own.

Keep us posted! Hugs! Kat

yes, it can be a problem if your LP is shorter than 12 days. implantation generally takes place between 6-12 dpo. if you've conceived and happen to be a late implanter, there's a good chance your body won't hold onto the pg and will shed the lining before it realizes it's pg.

i would definitely discuss this with your doc. and if he/she tells you that a 10 LP is ok, then my best advice would be to get a second opinion.

do you have an official dx for your IF issues?

Unexplained infertility is the DX. I conceived my DS in January 05 and he just turned 1 on 9-30-06..I conceived him with Bravelle 150 (I think) and trigger ovidrel and IUI......They don't know what the issue is, my DH is perfectly fine, its something with me I guess???? I will see what happens this month, I am still keeping my fingers crossed, but I doubt it, my luck does not run that way....and next cycle I am going to be doing bravelle again so, when I start my monitoring again I will talk to RE and clarify about my LP phase....
