What does this mean??

This morning, (39 hours post-hcg trigger with 3 mature follies), I did a home insemination. About 3 hours later, I felt awful cramping, (stabbing pains) in my ovaries. There was also a tiny spot of brown. The rest of the day I just felt a little bloated and mildly crampy, but nothing like in the a.m. Is this from ovulation? I'm afraid that it's my body fighting off the spermies. I really hope that's not the case. Can anyone help?

I sometimes get pain in my ovaries when I'm ovulating. Maybe that is the reason.

i usually get pretty acute pains in the ovary when i O. it usually makes me pretty miserable for a few hours, and then it subsides. i guess the real acute pain lasts abour 6 hours at best. then i just have an overall icky feeling for the rest of the day with some mild aches.

so it sounds like your trigger did exactly what it was supposed to do.

best of luck!!

ktapp- I get pain around ovulation, too. I am sure it is fine. Do you mind if I ask you about how the home insemination works? Do you just use regular sperm or does it have to be washed?

Hope this is the month for you!

I actually found out about home insemination from someone one FT. I just googled it and found out how to do it. I'm not sure if it's more effective or not. I just thought I'd try it because I had a yeast infection when I was supposed to BD. It's easy and I just used my husband's sperm. You have to get a sperm wash if you get an ICI which actually puts the sperm in your uterus. Only a dr. can do that.
Baby dust to all...
BTW, still mild pains in my ovaries 36 hours post insemination.
