Antibiotics and temping
Has anyone had antibiotics affect their BBT? Today is 11dpo, and my temp went up .3 degrees from yesterday, which is high for me. It could be a fluke, I will have to see when I temp tomorrow. However, it occurred to me that it could be from the antibiotics I started yesterday. I'm not sick, I just have a minor skin infection on my wrist and my doctor thought it would be a good idea.
Do you think this could affect my temperature? Thanks!

Hi Kasie: I never took antibiotics while temping, but it's possible that the meds have affected your temp. Or it could be a normal temp fluctuation. My temp before O often jumped around
. Let's see what it does tomorrow!Good luck and keep us posted+++++++++++ Maura |

i never took AB's while temping either. as long as it's not a crucial point in your cycle (like around O time,) where it could confuse you, i wouldn't give it a second thought.

I guess my real question is whether my temps are possibly going triphasic (indicating a possible pregnancy) or if it falsely increased because of the antibiotics. AF is due in 3 days. (I'm at cycle day 25, 11 days past ovulation) My temp in the 2ww is rarely this high.
Thanks, ladies! |

Ahhh. the old crystal ball.
Triphasic is hard enough to identify in the best of circumstances - you can't really know esp if it is just one temp and anything anyone here would tell you would just be a guess. Sounds like it might be, but really can't know for sure. Sorry hun!

Hi Kasie: I'm sorry; I read that you were on cd 11 rather than 11 dpo
! The increased temp could be from increased prog., which could be from a pg or it could just be something your body is doing... unfortunately, you can't tell a pg from even a triphasic chart (you can be pg without being triphasic and you can have triphasic without being pg) ... in any event, good prog. is good . I hope that your higher than usual temps means that you will see a +++ soon!Best of luck and keep us posted++++++++ Maura |
