How long for AF to return after a D&C/MC?
Miscarraige Mentioned
hi girls! so, i know i should be "relaxing" and be "patient" but i'm so not good at either of those things (especially the patient part!). so, i'm just curious for those of you who have had the unfortunate experience of a m/c with or without a d&c.....how long did it take for AF to return? was that a similar cycle length to what you had before? i'm just trying to figure out how long i should expect it to be before my body gets AF again. my cycles were anywhere from 30-40 days long before getting pregnant this 2nd time, and it's currently cd17, and i'm wondering if i'm 1/2 way done this "waiting" cycle, or not. we're not ttc this cycle, but instead letting my body try to get back in the swing of things. once i get AF, i'll actively start ttc again. thanks for any feedback! sarah (also posted on general parenting/pregnancy board)

Hi Sarah: With both of my m/cs, I resumed cycling as if my m/c was regular AF. I know this because I was temping
. With my D&C (at 10 wks, after a molar pg), I forget how long it was before I started cycling because I stopped paying attention to my cycles when told that I couldn't ttc for 6 months after my HcG returned to 0 . So, I guess I'm not much help... I'm sorry! But I can say that when I was finally able to resume ttc after the 6 months was up, my cycle the same length it had always been.I hope you see AF soon so you can get back in business... GOOD LUCK and keep us posted+++++++++++ Maura |

Your menstrual cycle should return in approximately 4-6 weeks although it may take several months for your cycle to return to a "normal" (for you that is) cycle. Variations in your norm are acceptable clinically for up to a year.
Hope this helps Kelcey

I got AF 26 days after my D&E at 12wks for a blighted ovum, but my cycle took 5 months to resume to a normal LP. I was told anywhere from 4-8 weeks was "normal" for AF to show.
