I need your opinions ladies!!

Okay, I've been doing opk's only once in the morning and wasn't expecting to see my surge until cd17 or so. Fri am cd14 it was -, yesterday am cd15 I forgot to test so last night I decide to do it right before bed and of course there's a so I called re's and left a message. Here's the problem, they can't fit me in for IUI until tomorrow morning the second day after surge. Should I do it?? I feel like it's too late. The egg only lasts 12-24 hrs. Of course they told me that I could have tested in the morning and had a negative and just picked up my surge early since I tested in pm and there's still a chance. But I've also learned that I could have surged fri am and missed it because I tested too early and it's a big waste. Help me girls what should I do

ooh, that's a tough one. are you paying out of pocket for your IUI's? that kinda makes a big difference....if i were in your shoes, i think i'd do it anyway, especially if it's covered by insurance.....you never know what can happen in there unless you try!

good luck!!

Thanks sarah, I don't have to pay out of pocket except sperm which I get reimbursed for. I guess I'll just do it, although I know I ovulated I've had pains and my boobs hurt already! Hopefully I'm better at raising a child than pinning down my O!

Hi there: If it's not going to cost anything (or very little) and if getting to and through the IUI is not a big inconvenience, then it's probably worth a shot.

Good luck and keep us posted!

good luck junebug! if it's "free" so to speak, i'd have totally done it too!

for you!

and FWIW, when i got pregnant with my dd, we thought we totally missed the O too. I o'd on a saturday day/night, and we were supposed to BMS that night.....but dh stayed out with his dad to celebrate his dad's b-day, and i went home, and we didn't BMS til the next morning. we thought it was a wash, but we've got a healthy kicking (and sometimes screaming) one year old to prove otherwise!

I think of your situation like this.... you normally dont test until the AM.. so you wouldnt have seen your ++ until AM... you can still O a few days out.. and then from there you have time with the egg. I say, go for it, you still have a very good chance. I would! Best Wishes!!

That's what I was thinking -at your regular time your OPK would have been +ve a day later, so I would still think you had a good chance. Good Luck.

Thanks, I feel a bit better. I'm hoping I caught the first part of the surge on Sat. night. I can't go back and test sat. am so I'll just keep my fingers crossed and test in the afternoon from now on. Of course they were running way late at the re's office this morning, I just wanted to yell "my egg is dying, let's go!" All of this just makes me ridiculous.
