Today is CD1 for me. I have to call RE today and schedule a HSG. Sorta nervous about it, but DH said he will go with me, so that should make it better.
I am scheduled for injectables class on Tuesday - I am doing Clomid/IUI w/HCG trigger this month. I took 3 rounds of Clomid w/no success, so RE is moving us along. When I first took the Clomid, I was so hopeful...then I completely lost hope for the 2nd and 3rd cycles..unsure why b/c I ovulated pretty well on it. I now feel hopeful once again that this month will be THE month! I want to stay positive this month, so if you have any advice, suggestions, prayers, sticky vibes or whatever - send them my way!

Lots and lots of positive vibes coming your way!
And don't worry about the HSG too much! I was told it would be the worst thing I went through - I was beyond scared. DH came with me and I took 800mg of Motrin before. They literally explained every single thing to me - the equipment, how life was in general, etc. They told me they'd talk through it so I knew what was going on...well, he put the speculum in, said he was putting the cath in, no words, no movement for about 3 minutes, all of a sudden, I had a little cramp on one side, I said oooh, and he said, ok, done. That was it - really, no pain at all - just emotional trauma building myself up for something! Take some motrin, relax and don't fret too much!!!! |

i agree with sassy....the HSG is uncomfortable, but take some motrin/advil before hand, & it's really not that bad! it is crampy, and not "fun" but it's not as painful as you'd think. and my OB swears that after he does a HSG the chance of pregnancy increases b/c the pipes are "cleaned out" so to speak! and it's true for me....i got pregnant the cycle after the HSG!
has your dh had a semen analysis? my dh had one back in the day, and it showed that it took him a few days to "replenish" his supply....so we have to be sure to only BMS every other day to make sure there are enough swimmers. unless i KNOW i O'd...then i make sure we do it again, just to get those last few swimmers out there! good luck!! i hope this cycle is your "one" !

I was wondering how things were going for you! I'm glad you are getting the HSG so you can get answers on the tubes at least! I too have heard that getting pg is easier after the HSG b/c it flushes the tubes out. And don't worry about the HCG shot, it looks huge but isn't too bad. Will you be on PIO shots too (post IUI)? Are they going to up your Clomid dose at all?
Hoping and praying this will do the trick for you! ![]() Tara |

I know two people who were pregnant the cycle after the HSG too! Didn't work for us, but I still think (predict) that I have a hostile environment. But yep, just think, it may increase the chances by cleaning the tubes out!!!

I JUST listened to my VM and realized you called! So sorry - work has been HECTIC and I worked 8-6 (no lunch) today. Came home and napped - call you a bit later! Wan2b3 I called RE to set an appt for baseline sono and to get my Rx for Clomid. Since they wouldn't fit me in today (too early) the next date available is Monday. So instead of Clomid CD3-7, it will have to be CD4-8 this time around. Not sure how many mg of Clomid this time, either. I'm also not sure when I take my shot or even when my HSG is! <so much I DON'T know!> I will find out more on Monday! Will DEFINITELY be nice to have a buddy!! Sassymermaid - lsmariev - JulieB2 - sarahp - Thanks for the encouragement and positive stories. I hope, hope, HOPE I am another sarahp and get pg after this! sarahp Yeah, DH had his SA done in like May. RE said everything was normal. Can't remember all the details, but I do recall 42M spermies! All I need is ONE GOOD SWIMMER! ![]() Wow! I feel crampy, bloated and irritable, but happy/optimistic nonetheless! I hadn't told my mom about our IF issues, but I finally told her like a week and 1/2 ago. She was very understanding and supportive. I think I feel better this time around because this 'burden' has somewhat been lifted off my chest. I felt horrible keeping that to myself and it really did me good to finally spill it. Keep the positive vibes coming - I'm really using them all up! |
