is the temp pattern a bad thing?
my temps in my luteal phase used to always stay elevated during most of the 2ww. i stopped charting 2 years ago, but started again this month. and my temp pattern is completely different in the lp now. i still ovulate very early like before, but the temps don't stay up. my fsh is 5, and my e2 is normal. thyroid was nuked in 99, and i'm on synthroid now and get it tested about every 6 months or so (it's been totally normal for the last year). antral follicle count is 20+. so it seems like everything checks out, but i can't help thinking the volcano shape just looks wrong.
any ideas? am i worrying about nothing? oh, here's my chart. http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/2e28f

well my humble opinion... I think if is over the cover line then is ok...
I found this on fertility friend: When temperatures fluctuate a great deal, it is usually due to inconsistencies in temperature taking methods. Make sure you are taking your temperature at the same time every day, when you first wake up, after a solid block of sleep, and with a BBT thermometer. If you are doing all this and are still getting rocky temperatures, you can try taking your temperature vaginally. Some women notice more stable temperatures when taking their temperature vaginally. Good luck!!! Loyda |

holly..there are some fluctuations there, and a couple of dips to (or close to) your CL. but if this is your first month charting after so long, i definitely wouldn't read too much into it until you get a few cycles down. hopefully you won't
, but if you do, there'll be more to compare it to.are you tempinging at the same time each day with at least 3 hours of consecutive sleep? this is really important. consistancy is the key to successful temping.

thanks so much for the replies. my temp jumped a bit and is still over the cl. but i've been having cramps since cd21 (really bad on that day) and am pretty sure af is around the corner.
as for the general sleep patterns, well, that's an issue i'm trying to fix. i take my temp every morning at the same time, but i don't get a lot of sleep. i have an issue that sends me to the bathroom about 5 or 6 times a night. it's been that way for 3 years though, and when i temped before, it didn't seem to affect the temps. so i don't know if it's really affecting them now esp since it's consistently every night. kwim? but it does seem like i'm getting at least 2 hours before taking the morning temp. longest lp so far has been 21 days, so i don't really know when i should expect af. most of the time my cycles are 26 days, but i've had a few recently that have been 30+, so i'll just sit back and wait a while i guess. |

Hi Holly: Your chart looks a lot like mine often did while charting, actually -- a rocky bell curve
(and that's fine for ttc purposes). I disagree with your O date, though. I see O on cd 15, with a coverline of either 97.4 or 97.6 (depending on whether your temp on cd 12 should be disregarded as artificially high). If you did O on cd 15, then your expected AF would be anywhere from cd 28 - cd 32 (assuming a normal length LP of 12-16 days).I'm interested in your long LP, though. Since a normal LP is 12-16 days, 21 days would be very long. Could it be that you O'd later than you thought? I definitely wouldn't stop BMSing too soon where O is at all in doubt . If your LP really is 21 days, I'd talk it over with your doctor to see what he/she thinks about it.Good luck and let us know how this cycle turns out ++++++++++++Maura |
