Finally....an RE consult

Its not for another six weeks but.....finally we are going to be going somewhere. I had a nice conversation with the appt girl today. She asked all kinds of questions and was so very nice.

So in the mean time Dh will be having an SA, i'll be collecting my test results from various people and getting them sent over and might be giving my last clomid try a go.

I'm pretty sure we'll be doing IUI and i was shocked that it was lower then I expected it to be. So, in a way, im pleasantly surprised.

The sperm wash and IUI itself is only 275. U/s are 156.00 per with an average of 2-3 per cycle. While it would be NICE to not have to pay anything to get pregnant i'm certainly happy that we aren't looking at 1500 bucks a cycle without meds which is what some of the ladies on the IUI board were saying *cringe*

Now of course if clomid doesnt work they'll move on to the big guns she says which can run 1000 - 2000 a cycle just for meds! EEEEK. That will do some saving.

I have six weeks tho to get things together, save for our first cycle and hope that our last ditch effort with an unmonitored clomid cycle will do the trick. Not holding out much hope tho!

Overall....im excited!! Such a long time spinning our wheels.

Congrtas. I just made the move to an RE and haven't been happier. The care of the office staff and the doc were far superior to any OB's office -they get it I think.
Good Luck!

Best of luck Jullie. I can wait to move to a RE too. I'll have to wait until January because of ins.

Hi Julie,
thats great news. Glad to hear that you have an appointment made. I will be in the same boat soon. I just contacted the IF clinic to find out what is the waiting time frame for the consult so that I can get all the paperwork ready.

Thanks all Dh and I talked about using our last unmonitored cycle and thought better of it. It would be just my luck that id wind up with a cyst and be benched even before i got started with the RE. So we decided that it would be more productive to work on getting in the habit of temping and taking my vitamins and stuff regularly again. Afterall, I have totally slacked this summer and did nothing with TTC and just enjoyed some much needed time off from stress.

Plus school is starting and its always stressful for me, and the first rotation this quarter is neuro so it will be a bit more difficult then the next rotation (which is Women's health/OB, which i feel after IF i have a good handle on things! ) and will be during the time of our RE consult and hopefully tx.

But I'm still checking in on everyone!

++++ thoughts!

Being a patient always makes you a better medical student....it also makes you a more empathetic care provider in the long run...

Congrats on getting in with an RE..Hope they are able to help you graduate from ttc to pg in no time
