Hello,
Any response would be great. I am devastated. I am 32 single and soon to marry. My periods were getting very irregular. I went to doctors and got my fsh checked... first it came back 175 and then 185!!!!!!!! I am totally confused and they said all I could do is egg donor or adoption. Does anyone have anything they can tell me. Thank you!!

I'm so sorry. I wish I had some advice for you. We do have a High FSH/Premature Ovarian Failure board. I bet the gals over there will have some input for you.

oh no angel...i'm so sorry to hear this. if those numbers are correct, then what they told you is unfortunately true.
the following was taken from fertilityplus.com. regarding normal FSH levels and their significance. Follicle Stimulating Hormone (FSH) Day 3 3-20 mIU/ml FSH is often used as a gauge of ovarian reserve. In general, under 6 is excellent, 6-9 is good, 9-10 fair, 10-13 diminished reserve, 13+ very hard to stimulate. In PCOS testing, the LH:FSH ratio may be used in the diagnosis. The ratio is usually close to 1:1, but if the LH is higher, it is one possible indication of PCOS. i know that many doctors and clinics don't consider a patient a good candidate for IVF if their FSH is over 12/13. there are a few other boards here where you might be able to get more specific info. there's an egg donor bb, high FSH bb, and there's an IVF bb. i'm sure the ladies there could be helpful in giving you their personal experiences. best wishes...
