Negative OPK result on surge day?

Hi everyone,

I did an OPK on day 12, and got no line whatsoever. I then had a blood test on the morning of day 13, and was told I was surging and was given my hcg shot. But I did an OPK test again that evening (day 13), and it was still negative!

Does this make sense to anyone?

emily.....do you think your urine could have been too diluted? i'm a big water drinker and my output rarerly has any color. did they do an u/s to check follicle size?

Hi Emily: As Dina said, maybe your urine was diluted ... or maybe the blood test just caught it earlier and it would have shown up in your urine today ....

In any event, if you are BMSing, I would now BMS every day until you are sure you've O'd (assuming no male factor)...

I had the same thing happen to me this week. I took an OPK Tues. and Wed. and they were both neg. Then my bloodwork came back pos. and I triggered 10,000 hcg that night. I took an OPK the next day (Thurs) and still it said neg. Then I took an HPT yesterday to see if the HCG was in my system and it came back totally neg. Weird, isn't it? I thought it should show up. Anyone have that happen?

Thanks for the replies. I don't think my urine was particularly diluted or anything (I'm not a big water drinker).
