not sure of dpo? help!

I am having a hard time figuring my dates out...I was on femara cycle dates 4-8 this month. on cd 14 I had the egg white cm...assumed my opk would be postive in the morning...it didn't show positive until cd 17. Isn't the egg white cm supposed to come around O? When can I assume a HPT would appear +? cd 17 is really late for me to usually ovulate...not sure what is happening!

I usually have EWCM at least 3-4 days prior to O, so it is possible you did O on CD17 or CD18. What CD are you on now? I would say wait at least until CD30 which would be 12DPO, assuming you O'd on CD18. Did that make any sense?? LOL

makes good sense...thanks. I am on cd 25 right now...which is why im not sure my dpo....I should assume it happened when the opk was positive though right? I usually have the sticky stuff exactly at the same time....which is why I asked since they were a few days off! The day the opk said I o'd it was back to thick and cloudy...thanks for your help! you boys are cute!

Hi Murphy: Perhaps you caught your surge late, which is why your cm was already drying up on the day you saw your ++. (like A, though, I sometimes see ewcm a few days before O and not around O itself).

With a ++OPK on cd 17, you could O anywhere from cd 17-19. However, for HPT testing purposes, I'd assume that you O'd on cd 19... that way you'll decrease your chances of testing too early! So, with a cd 19 O and today being cd 25, I'd say you are 6 dpo and should hold off testing for another week. Waiting until 14 dpo (or later) will give you your best shot at an accurate result, although some of us here (ahem) have been known to test earlier. Still, if you test earlier, please just remember that it could easily be too early since implantation can take place as late as 12 dpo.

Good luck and keep us posted+++++++++++
Maura
