+opk and ovidrel

I got a +opk today and tonight I do the ovidrel shot, will the shot hold off ovulation for 36hrs or could I ovulate as early as 24hrs? I don't IUI until Monday morning and I am worried the timing will be off, RE said not to worry or use opks because of the trigger shot but I am totally paranoid!

Thanks,
Lisa

lisa....so your doc told you to trigger tonite? did he do an u/s to see if your follicle(s) is ready?

why did he tell you not to do OPK'S?

Hi Dina,

I had an u/s yesterday to check follies, so according to that I should be ready for IUI on Monday.

RE told me to save my $$ on the opks, since he was monitoring me. He said that the trigger should make me ovulate 36hrs later(the shot regulates o) but I was wondering if it was possible to o sooner. Will the trigger stop me from oing until Monday?

I'm probably overthinking this, oh well.

lisa...i know that the trigger customarily prompts O to occur 36 hours later, but i don't think it will actually prevent you from O'ing sooner. that said, i would probably follow your docs advice and pray for the best outcome. i would probably do the trigger as late as possible, like right before you go to bed.

do you go in for 2 IUI's or just one? because i know many women go in for 2 consecutive days. if you are, you "might" want to consider triggering tom morning. then an IUI on monday and tuesday would cover you either way.

if you only go in for one IUI, then i would follow the original plan and trigger tonite.
