Very low (yes, very low) beta...help!!
Hi all-
I'm on a rest cycle and the only meds I'm taking are prog. suppositories. When I didn't get my period, I went in for a beta so I could quit the suppositories before the weekend. Well, I was told I have a beta of 4 (my office considers anything above 2 positive) and my progesterone is 12...which is exclusively what my body is making, not the suppositories. I am not sure how far past O I am - I never got a clear LH reading this cycle. Is there any hope? They've got me coming back on Monday for another beta and all I know is that it's going to be a long weekend. Any insight would be much appreciated!!! skippy

Hi Skippy: Because you're not sure how far past O you are, you might be ok even though the beta is low. All pgs have to start with low betas, right
? You might have just tested really soon after O! I'm glad you'll be getting another beta on Monday; it doesn't matter so much what number you start with... what matters is where the number goes from here!As for your progesterone, my OB likes to see it above 10 in pg (some doctors like 15 or 20). What did your doctor say? I'm keeping my fingers crossed that your number jumps up in a big way on Monday... and that your weekend speeds along (the beta wait is SO hard!)! Best of luck and keep us posted++++++++++++ Maura Edited to correct an egregious spelling error !

Thanks for your support, awbaby and Maura!! My doctor was happy with my progesterone - apparently anything over 8 is considered healthy for a pregnancy according to them. It seemed that that number is what was making them think I had a chance at least. I think I'll just be doing a lot of stress eating this weekend.
