Lots of questions!
Hi there!
DP and I are going to start ttc #2 the low tech way after a failed FET in October. So. I think I may need a book or something!! I have NEVER really kept track of my cycles, never used an OPK or charted my temps or CM. I was wanting to know where I can get so some kind of chart and something that tells me what it means about the tempurature stuff, how long I have to chart to figure out what's up in there, what is the best OPK to buy and where the heck I learn about CM ![]() Thanks! Heather Proud SAHM to Hayden 3 years old!!

If you buy a basal body thermometer they ushually come with instructions on bbt. They come with chart. Or you can go to fertilityfriend.com and enter your temps there. They will graph your temps for you which is really nice pluse they have a spot to track your CM. I however do not chart my CM. Well I take that back. I put in my pre O cm if I get the egg white stuff. As far as bbting I learn new stuff about my cycles every month. I have been bbting for 8 months now. At about 4 months I could see a pattern. For you it just depends on how well you know your cycles and how regular they are. Just make sure you get 3 hours of sleep and try to temp at the same time everyday. As for the opk's I get mine online or at the dollar tree. They all seem to work well for me. I know a lot of people perfer the monitors but the cheapies work fine for me. Good luck!

Hi Heather and welcome
!If you want a really good book on all of the fertility signs (temp, cm, cp) plus more, I HIGHLY recommend "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" by Toni Weschler. You can probably get it out of the library if you don't want to buy it. Also here is a link to a website with which she seems to be affiliated: http://www.ovusoft.com As for OPKs, I am partial to ClearPlan Easy (also the brand both my OB and RE recommended). I found it to be very reliable and I never had trouble detecting O. Good luck and keep us posted+++++++++++++ Maura |

I also wanted to add a couple of things to keep in mind:
BBT is not a predictive tool (unless you are extremely regular), but it does provide a lot of useful information about your cycle (when you O'd, if you O'd, when to expect AF, LPD). Also, if you have PCOS, OPK's may not work for you or may be unreliable. |
