Another CM question...and BMS
Hi ladies. Dh and I are BMS'ing this week. Phewww...it's only been 2 days and I'm already worn out!
A couple days ago I noticed some thick cm (green/yellowish), so I thought...O is on the way. We were on a school trip (as sponsors-separate rooms) so we couldn't BMS until Saturday night when we got home. I took an OPK - my last one - before BMS w/ only 1.5 seconds of pee and it was negative. Oh well - we bms'd anyway b/c I'd been feeling O pains all day and noticed some CM that day, although not a lot. Yesterday I saw a little "stretchy" CM, too, so we BMS'd last night. I'm out of OPK's and plan to get more today. We also plan to BMS until Saturday, b/c that's when we conceived last time (on cd20). I'm currently on cd15. No cm yet today. Is CM really something to go by? I know an OPK would be better. I'm just going to BMS to be "safe". I'm also doing the pelvic lift thing after each BMS session for 20-30 minutes. Just wondering what else you'd suggest...if anything. THANKS!!!! Oh and good luck! ![]() -Jill-

Hi Jill: Regular BMS is the ticket and it sounds like you have that covered
. You don't need OPKs if you are BMSing regularly since it wouldn't change what you're doing -- you'd still be BMSing anyway. OPKs are good for information purposes: letting you know you're getting your surge and helping you pinpoint O (esp. when done in conjunction with bbt). The only thing about BMSing until cd 20 and stopping and NOT doing bbt and OPKs is that you might stop BMS too soon. Let's say you BMS until cd 20 and don't O until cd 22. Then you might not have hit the mark (if the sperm don't stick around). So, keep BMSing and don't stop until you are sure you've O'd, whether you OPK or bbt or follow cm and/or cp or cramping, etc.! Good luck and keep us posted++++++++++++ Maura |

I am so glad to hear that someone else does the pelvic lift after bms. I do it because it makes me feel better. My first dr told me to do it and my dr now just laughed at me when I told her I did it. Have you ever asked your dr what she/he thinks about it? I figure I am just helping gravity. However, the month I concieved dd we did it and we got pg so it is hard for me to dicredit it. Good luck on this cycle!! Some of my cycles i have a lot of cm and others not so much.

I don't care how silly I look! I've never asked my OBGYN about it. She'd tell me to do whatever I thought worked. It worked for us w/ our last pg, too, so I'm doing it for sure now! Not much cm today...but there was some. Guess I'll BMS again tonight although I'm SOOOOOO tired! It'll be worth it, though, WHEN I see that +HPT. I know you like my ++++ thinking, Maura!
