IUIs with Clomid or IUIs with injectables (like follatism)

I did my first IUI w/ Clomid in Jan and got a BFN. I will now do IUI with this follatism injectables....what will be the main differences does anyone know? Will the outcome be better. my RE office said this is just turning it up a notch for me....how is that so, anyone know why this may be more aggressive?

Hmmm...I just wanted to add to what Bop said. I actually did better than just 1 or 2 mature follies. I only have one function ovary due to radiation treatment for cancer. My first IUI I had three mature follies. For my second I had 2. It worked both times (though the first was ectopic). I'm pregnant 24 weeks from teh second. It really is dependent on many factors...and the docs CAN control how many follies you release with clomid. For example I was producing some 6 mature follies with my right ovary when I was on 150mg. It was much more reasonable when I was on 75.

I never had problems with my lining either...it's all very individual.

thanks Bops and Lamchops

I was on 50 mg of clomid and did produce 2. I ovulate on my own too. What you said Bops really explains it and now I am loving that it CAN greater increase my chances. Your tagline there is so funny---enjoy your break and upcoming trip!

I go Thurs for first u/s....and she mentioned that i will give myself a shot too that evening. thanks! I AM PRAYING that this IUI works with the INJECTABLES!
