Another question
Hi All,
I have a question(propably stupid, but i have to ask). My Dr told me to take clomid on a 3rd cd, which i did for 2 month(100mg) did 2 IUI - no result. Now i heard that people take it on a 5th cd - does that make a difference? Should i try it on a 5th day this cycle? And if i do it on a 5th to 9th when should i start testing for O? Alex.

I am not sure why dr's choose certain days for clomid-I think it has to do w/how long your cycle is. My cycle was really long and I took it cd5-cd9. I started OPKing on cd 12 because you can get a false + before that ( I learned that the hard way my first cycle on clomid-but the wise ones here set me straight). I O'd later on clomid, cd18-cd20 so cd 12 was a good place for me to start. Good luck w/whatever days you decide!!!!

It's normal for doctors to do days 3-7 or days 5-9. Not sure what determines the day. I've done both -- don't think it makes much difference. I'd be interested in knowing how the doctors determine which days - that is if there is any special reasoning at all.

Hi Alex: There are different theories for which cds work better and for what reason .. I don't know them off the top of my head, but I'm hoping someone else with experience does! If not, I can do some digging and try to find out for you!
Good luck and keep us posted++++++++++ Maura |

Well,
I just talk to a different Dr (got myself an appointment for second opinion). Without looking at my records they told me its fine to take clomid on a 5th cd (but they usually do it on a 3rd) and they going to do U/S on a 12th, so maybe this month i'll know better when i o. Thanks again for all your input. Alex. |
