Question Ok...now what do I do?? MAURA LOL

yesterday I had some old brown blood, thought ok, I am going to start, then last night I was POSITIVE I was going to start as I went to the bathroom and I had bright red blood two wipes worth, and now this morning on my tampon I had a spot of Old brown blood, nothing else, so far did I have CD 1 or not yesterday, oh and I feel the AF cramps today

Thanks
Sheila

Hey Sheila! Just posted to your other post... hmmmm.... doesn't sound like AF started yet! Let's see what happens now ... just keep checking and noting all episodes of spotting/bleeding!

Keep in touch and good luck++++++++++

Hey Sheila, I agree with Karen ... spotting --even if it's red -- isn't considered cd 1 ... it has to be a real flow ... the kind where you would need a pad or tampon.

Hope that helps! Keep us posted!

ok I will be devil's advocate lol. cuz My ob did a pap smear on me and apparently I was starting my AF that day (Cuz there was some blood up there and cervix was open, this was Sept actually) and she said ok now when you start counting today is day one. Counting must have worked cuz I got pg so not sure, dont mean to counter what Maura or anyone else said cuz Maura is my idol

LOL ... just so we know, were you not even spotting on the day of your Pap? And after your Pap, did you start your flow?

Best to you ... how are you feeling?

i've always been very confused with the spotting/real flow decision. especially because when i was TTC (but not anymore for some reason) i used to spot for 3-4 days before i had real flow. for me personally, i always O'd around 14-15 days from the day i started spotting. had i used the day of real flow, it would've made my O day cd 10.

that said, any doctor i've ever spoken to about this said that cd 1 is the sday of real flow. i guess you have to zero in on what works for you. that's why i think it's also so important to track O'tion. having 3-4 days of spotting could really throw off your "mental" cycle.
